Duncan beat guys with big Egos, in big ways. Who can say they beat Shaq, Kobe, and LeBron all in their primes. They downplay his greatness and call him boring because if not they would have to admit he embarrassed them multiple times.

Boozer played at the era of the great PFs - TD, Dirk, KG, Pau Gasol. Notable mentions are Z-Bo, Al Jeff, and even Luis Scola had them moves. The Deron-Boozer Jazz was Malone-Stockton lite.

Tim played on a small market team.. the Spurs. Been a a spurs fan since 1994 and when Timmy joined the team in 99, man the Spurs were hot. No losing season for 2 decades if I"m not mistaken. Yeah yeah they suck now. But during his time? Together with Manu and Tony, Spurs was the best team or the next best team second to the Lakers. Timmy was the foundation of that fanchise.

Timmy joined the team in 1997, but I shouldn't have to tell a spurs fan since 1994 that!😑

I’ve been a Spurs fan, since my father took me to my first NBA game at the Baltimore Civic center and saw the Washington Bullets (they played a few games a year in Baltimore, after the team left for Washington in the early 70’s). The Bullets played San Antonio and they had a player named George Gervin. The Ice Man. He instantly became my favorite player and the Spurs my favorite team, much to the chagrin of my father, I lifelong Bullets, later Wizard fan. Years later, the NCAA tournament came to the then Baltimore Arena (The civic center) and among the teams I would watch was Wake Forest, led by senior center Tim Duncan. I recall Duncan destroying Antonio McDyess (sp?) and Alabama. I became a “fan” of Duncan. He was a beast, He could score from the post and if he faced you up, the shot was money in the bank. Pun intended. Little did I know at that time, the only NBA team I really had a rooting interest in would draft Tim Duncan and he’d go on to be one of the best players in the history of the game. Crazy to think, a young Kid from West Baltimore would root for the Spurs, and would get to see two of my favorite players live for the first time at the Baltimore Civic. center ~ later known as the Baltimore arena. I’m now excited that the Spurs will draft the “Next” great prospect. Side note: Another Baltimore/ Spurs connection. 4 NBA players from Baltimore played for the Spurs. Reggie Williams and David Wingate who both played at Baltimore’s legendary Dunbar high school. They both played for the historic National Champions squad that featured 4 players who would make the NBA and all grew up in the same neighborhood! Dominique Wilkins, briefly played for the Spurs. Many don’t know he honed his skills in Baltimore, building a Street legend by dunking on 11ft rims. Prior to moving to North Carolina after witnessing the death of one of his childhood friends. Also Rudy Gay put in some work with the Spurs. I also failed to mention Gary Neal another Baltimore product who played for the Spurs for 3 years!

Because he wasn’t drafted in the first round I think…
@swaymcthunder1219 Жыл бұрын
He was thought to be undersized for the 4 coming out of duke. Still, he was very early in the 2nd, which around that time was probably more beneficial than going late in the first if you could prove yourself

I hate the fact that people he wasn’t on more fans’ radar simply because he was a relatively quiet guy.

Boozer outplayed his contract in CLV and the owner Gordon Gund thought he deserved a raise. The Cavs ripped up his old deal and when presented with the agreed upon raise Boozer went out and signed with the Jazz. Important note to understand what a scummy move this really is: Gordon Gund was blind.
