tony1967ify you’ve got to understand he didn’t do this to give Carlos a chance to tell “his side” of the story - it’s established fact going back 15 years. Watch the Rogan stuff on KZbin if you need to catch up. This was the equivalent of telling a Holocaust denier, listen the whole world knows it happened, you need to get with the program, do you want a chance at public redemption or do you want to go down in flames to the bitter end? And Carlos chose the flaming wreck, trying to suggest the open mic’ers and openers from 20 years ago should have made recordings of their sets (remember this is years before KZbin, cell cameras etc being common) to prove he wasn’t known to be in the back of the room with a notebook, that it was a coincidence that the door man at the comedy store used to flash the lights whenever Carlos walked in to warn the guy on stage switch to crowd work, etc.
@bennylevine3874 жыл бұрын
@@thefloridamanofytcomments5264 The totality of Carlos' stance on joke-theft is that the accusers need to provide evidence, at which point he will go into his archives and determine whether an offense had been committed. That's how this will be hashed out. It's beyond delusional. Like let's entrust the accused thief to undertake the review process. He really needs serious help. He shouldn't be this dopey.
@thefloridamanofytcomments52644 жыл бұрын
Benny Levine he makes that argument because it sounds reasonable to people who have no idea how the comedy scene works today, let alone back then. The proof is that dozens of comics saw him taking notes when guys were working out their sets - in the days before KZbin, when a new comic didn’t have reason or means to record every set - and worked it into his act, then released a special. But there’s more than enough video evidence for this clown of him using jokes that were in specials released years before him, I’m thinking of the Cosby NFL bit off the top of my head for example.

After watching this in retrospect I think Carlos Mencia is vindicated and here’s why. Ari the Jewish comic who is also racist against Mexicans once got a bunch of illegal aliens at Home Depot and dropped them off in front of immigration services. This exemplifies malice to the Hispanic community. It was that same predjuice and malice that motivated him to attack Carlos Mencia for stealing his jokes. He used joe Rogan as his front man for the attack joe saw the evidence and made a snap decision about it. Joe and Ari are good friends. The joke was that illegals wouldn’t be building the wall separating Mexico from America. When Ari told the joke he presumed he was the first one to come up with it. The reality is that within the Hispanic community that joke was circulated a million times and Carlos assumed it was public domain. Carlos Mencia is not a genius and is actually bad at pleading his case in a logical way. What he’s managed to do was humiliate himself trying to vindicate himself.

@@psyience3213 he’s had that same amount of years to gather his best exonerating evidence, and yet never presented it and didn’t even want to dive into the most obviously stolen material. He has the benefit of saying “hey if someone tells me a joke I stole then I’ll be happy to show them evidence that I wrote it first”, which is a way to ensure that it never happens. If a comedian took him up on that offer then how are we all going to hear about it, plus when Carlos subsequently decides to blow off any efforts to “prove” to that comedian how are we all going to hear about it? Even Jussie Smollett and Amber Heard, who both went through the ringer, where all the evidence was shown against them, they still declare that they are innocent and that they have proof of their evidence that people either haven’t seen or that people are choosing not to believe. Liars whose careers are on the line simply can’t admit because they think that playing the victim card is the only way to have their cake and eat it too. It’s probably human nature though. We just happen to be lucky to not have ever done something heinous and embarrassing.

He could come out and admit that he stole jokes all the time back then. That he was new to comedy so he didn't know how to write but he knew how to be funny. He says something like that, and he would be back to doing real shows in a few years. Although, these days, with the insane leftists that think every joke is truth and the beliefs of the person that said it, people can't even do real comedy anymore. Most comics won't do colleges because of how the kids treat them when they say something that isn't really left wing. Like when Rogan made fun of vegans, they all acted like he hates all vegans. You can't really be a funny comic anymore. Not with the PC agenda of the left. Rogan wouldn't admit it, but I would bet almost anything that he votes Republican. He says he's in the middle, but he's not. He's pro-guns, anti-trans in women's sports, pro-meat, pro-manliness, and his closest friends are right wing. Like Alex Jones.

@@Tech-px3yn Yeah, there's plenty. A lot of interviews of comedians have their own stories of what he did to them as individuals which completely goes against what he says saying "Who though?!". That was a common experience between these people. There has to be some truth to it at some point. Even Dave Chappelle had a story of his jokes getting stolen and he couldn't do anything about it. @Tony Day its because its a proven fact he stole , on youtube there are "comparison joke Videos" showing he stole jokes that were made in the 1960's to 80's by bill cosby and others that existed before he even started his comedy career, the list of stolen jokes with him are to long an not just one or two. so it is not in question.
