@@Iliveonthesecondfloor For not only stealing jokes, but for doing so specifically to fuck with rookie comedians and poisoning the community comedians have. When Robin Williams told other people's jokes, he was usually riffing and wound up saying other people's bits. He at least had the good sense in his heart to send those comedians a check as an apology. People don't talk about Mencia's comedy the same way people don't talk about Denis Leary's comedy.

At 1:07:30 Khalyla asks Bobby if Mencia has ever done him dirty. Here is where we see just how prepared and shady, how scummy and deceptive, how well Carlos has thought out his defense for his joke stealing. He very sneakily cuts her off, doesn't let Bobby answer, and crams bullshit into the mic about when Bobby posted that video about Carlos, how it killed him to see Bobby in pain over it, how the hate Bobby got was....blah blah blah....more blah blah blah bullshit. Ugh, he's a fucking human troll hybrid. I've never seen anything more cringe crazy and so obviously guilty.

Body language "experts" is just pseudoscience. Nearly every time you watch one on KZbin, it's people evaluating after the fact, when they already know the outcome, so its easy to make the right call. Study after study has shown that people are unique in how they respond in situations. That said, what do you need to read Menstealia's body language for? We already know he's full of shit.

Man, I recognize Bobby's exhausted expression, I have a friend just like this. Honestly generally a great guy, super talented, smart, eloquent, thinks of himself as everyone's older brother. But when confronted with certain lies or a pattern of behavior that multiple people have observed, just refuses to back down and apologize. They always just keep bringing up all the good things they've done, and they bring up all the times they've been falsely accused or misunderstood (which btw, they're not wrong about, but it's completely unrelated).

I don't know about your friend, but the way Carlos talks about all the ways he supposedly helps people, it makes me feel like he doesn't do it out of completely selfless reasons. He seems like the kind of guy that does things because it makes him feel like a big shot. Think about it. All the stories of the good things he did shows him in a position of power over someone, and he being the benevolent king in the scenario. I think his helping comics is more about his own ego. The vast majority of people that help others never talk about it. Carlos won't shut up about it, which really diminishes his motives to me.

He's on a podcast, not a private conversation. When he's just talking to Bobby he doesn't bring up what he's done for him every 2 seconds. @@equi2523 @5:00 @7:46 just to name a few-didn’t want to search up the rest again. He doesn’t only talk about what he’s done for Bobby or just small memories of what they used to do and act like in the old days. He constantly talks about what he’s done for all these successful comics and for the comedy world as a whole. No one in their right mind does that especially when it’s not the whole truth. Bobby gives thanks to him and appreciates what he’s meant to him over the years. Ned gives thanks to himself for being a savior to comedy..
@equi2523
@equi2523 3 жыл бұрын
That's just your point of view though... in the podcast Ned said that people make him out to be this selfish fuck that only cares about himself and doesn't help other comics. That's why he talks about what he's done for others to show that he was interested in building up other comics as well and not hold them back, and to show that he has given to people as well. Cause some people don't know any of that He definitely sounds narcissistic but he never said he's a ~savior of comedy~ in any way
@alfaromarv
@alfaromarv 3 жыл бұрын
@@equi2523 I see your point, I just think the way he perceives things, there’s a disconnection with reality. No one’s asked him to bow down to other comics and apologize or leave the comedy world. I think it came to that because he went on for so long saying “I don’t know what you’re talking about” “when have I stole a joke” his pride, in my opinion caused his downfall. I think he means well, I don’t think he’s a bad guy, but even saying “oh that’s weird, it is pretty similar to that persons joke, my bad” something genuine- that would make all the difference. I think these comics are so tight with each other because that’s how the community was built. Now you have someone that goes against that community not only on their accusations, but of the reality of things. He did steal some jokes and he did bump people and deny it at the time. I used to think he was funny. But there’s something there that keeps him stuck in time and it’s been 14 years. Yes he’s gotten and still continues to be bombarded with those accusations and bullying, but he blames everyone else. Keeping that never ending cycle of keeping people unhappy with him. He just needs to chill. He’s still young and can turn his life around. I don’t wish anything bad on him but you do need to call out bs when you see it.

He believes it is a slippery slope, and that if he apologizes generally people will think he stole 100% of his material. He also believes that if he apologizes people will scrutinize him more. The truth is that if he apologizes people will empathize with him more. And people will scrutinize his work the same whether he apologizes or not. There is some to gain and nothing to lose by apologizing, but he wrongly sees it as the opposite.

Listened to the audio yesterday. Very bold episode. Mad props to Bobby for reaching out to his old mentor despite the controversies surrounding Ned, and then getting down to the NITTY GRITTY.. Regardless of what the situation is, it's always good to sit down, talk like adults, and have an understanding for one another. This will be an underrated episode for sure. I liked it.

Rogan tricked this man out of fame. Never except a challenge from a man that has less to lose then you he should of ignored joe & kept it pushing or hired a body guard that he new for sure could beat up joe & just let him loose but you decided to try & argue with a man that didn’t care if he was listened to or not that actually had truth on you had facts had proof & had others behind him you should of left it alone !!

Finally at the end I felt they all knew it was a normal thing stealing jokes and thats why she said Bobby believes both and he agreed. Mencias voice inflection went up. They wont bring up ALL the stealing because it was a norm they all know existed. The refrences that feel to have deeper meaning really are deeper. This video is interesting.
