Alex Lighterwood is one of the most underrated singers in music. Great range and lots of soul. The album Zebop was a marker of my youth. Cool songs.

Marathon is also an album that he shines on. I had the chance to tell Alex that he was the voice of Santana and he gave me a hug. Never forget it.

One of the most underrated vocalists and song writers ever. Saw him with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express too and his range and precision is just incredible. Probably the best opening number I've ever seen for a live show was when they (Santana) came out and began with Primera Invasion and then right into Searching---couldn't believe what i was hearing!

As a big fan of Santana I was studying one night of 1982, then I wanted to listen some Santana but there was only a TV in this room... So I turned on this old TV and saw directly THAT song from that rockpalast concert... I just went crazy ! I’ve yet saw the zebop tour This was the best Carlos lineup with the addition of Tom Coster and Greg Walker... Dave Margen is clearly my best bass player, each of those guys are GENIUS !

I saw Santana during the Zebop tour at Plattsburgh State University in NY and it blew the whole audience away. We were pinching ourselves cause we couldn’t believe what we were experiencing. Up close and personal in a small field house.

In the early 80's, despite the record company's pressure to produce radio-friendly music, Santana managed to stay true for quite a while. All of their records from this era had a few gems on them. The lineup was stellar. And Carlos was brandishing the PRS.
@greatunz672 жыл бұрын
And they were incredible live, which is where they really flourished, despite the loss of Tom Coster on keys the earily through mid 80's Santana had the best lineup of their career.

Carlos Santana doesn't play music. He isn't even really a musician. He simply IS the music. And since I share a birthday with him, that means I'm ALSO...well...I guess it makes me another guy born on July 20th. NEVERTHELESS, he is the music.

It's a German tv variety show which featured multiple artists on the same bill, they were probably all there to see someone else like Abba or someone and Santana was on earlier in the program.
