Something that i found very interesting is the “add to wardrobe” feature on the clothing you make. Would be so cool if we have this feature to make actual clothing stores in the game and unlock clothes in your sims personal wardrobe buying them, like in sims 2. And the coolest thing is that you could buy clothes and gift Friends and family with it(i hate to give sims presents because there’s nothing interesting to give)Think about it: it’s Winterfest, and you give your special someone a bealtiful Winter sweather to use on snow days. Would be a awesome game changer. I used to love making my sims go out and buy clothes.

Wolfe Wright i know that, this feature came with GtW. But what i mean is really having to unlock normal clothes in CAS for your sim to use, not having the entire CAS in your dresser like we have today. What’s the point of buying clothes at the clothing store in Get To Work if we already have all the clothes back in your sim’s house? And gifting clothes i meant any piece of clothing, not just the knitted ones.

It's a cute SP. One thing I did notice with the mailboxes is that, since it's a gift/sellable/put in your inventory type of item, if you make one be your main mailbox every time you go to click it it will act like you're picking it up, making the interactions for the actual mailbox a little tricky. Other than that, I haven't noticed many glitches. Plopsy works fine in my game. Gifting low level knits makes other sims furious at you, which I thought was funny. The elementals on Sulani do not appreciate these gifts and will give you negative island love. The donate news flashes can be pretty funny, they're always grateful though sometimes confused on what the item is supposed to be. Sometimes you will sell an item (even a high level legendary) on Plopsy and the customer will complain that it is too small or too itchy, which is very relatable to any craft seller. Not going to go into how some of these crafts wouldn't be done irl in knit (at least not hand knit, maybe machine), especially the macrame plant holders, just appreciating that they have included handicrafts and allusions to a well rounded crafter. Some things are disappointing, for instance not being able to rock the toddlers. Would have liked the acquisition of working materials to be a little more complex than immediate inventory drop. We take fiber shopping way seriously and it's part of the fun. Many people still spin yarn so that would have been a fun incorporation. 'Yarn love' would have been a good moodlet after they went shopping and bought a hoard of it online. When they sit and knit, you cannot direct any conversations going on around you at the time, but sometimes can get in a little bit of social...anyone who knits or crochets knows that we are capable of doing several tasks at the same time as our projects; we watch tv, we talk with our family, we read directions, you get the jist. Overall though, for what you get and for all of the things your sim can produce, this is a decent little pack. Maybe eventually they can add more swatches to the build/buy for those who don't care much for the pastel theme (not holding my breath). It would be nice to expand upon the crafter theme in the future as well (not holding breath for that one either). In summation, I personally find this pack adorable and enjoyable. It's a solid SP, and that's all we can ask for at the end of the day. P.s. not all knitters are elderly, when do we think they learn? My 5 year old is learning to crochet, so really these are skills aquired over a long time, rather than being something someone wakes up knowing how to do once they hit a certain age. I can understand why people don't like this pack or feel the need for it, but the scope and breadth of fiber artists who also play the Sims is large and enthusiastic. I'm happy for the representation. I'm also sure they will bring the Grim career to a pack sometime in the near future. Thanks for the video, Carl.

@@surprisesdaedra2863 They could have added edits of basegame coats and jumpers that have a knitted scarf instead of the one in basegame, that you unlock when you knit the scarf. 4:02 - I first heard about the Sweater Curse in a DDLC mod called "Monika After Story" and it gave a couple of reasonable theories on why it exists 1)Spending so much time on a sweater would cause possible issues in relationships due to the 2 people (Or in this case People and or Occult/Servos because Sims 4) 2)Trying to use a sweater to save a damaged relationship

Thanks Carl. I was going to buy this pack anyway, because I've wanted a rocking chair in my game since Day 1, and having the Metal station cinched the deal for me. I was glad to hear you say it didn't seem as buggy as previous packs. I've held off on buying it to see if there would be another bug fix patch. Guess I'll go ahead and get it now. :)

I'm actually excited for this one. Sims have an actual hobby! Honestly the tiny living stuff pack has been my favorite addition to the game so far, I made a mess of micro houses. So I have high hopes for this one. Though I am upset that we cannot sell fizzy juice or fabricated item on plopsy. As I understand it, we can sell flower arrangements and they expire so I don't get why we can't sell fizzy drinks. But whatever.

I don't know why but when I saw your line of Grims I just started humming Heigh Ho from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. "Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's off to reap we go." But of course, Grim can't whistle, or can he?

Thanks, Carl, for the update. Personally I favored rocking chairs ONLY for rocking babies, but EA sought differently.

The grims are so cute! I got the pack because I like the variety of items. I'm glad I watched this... I had no idea things unlocked for the entire household. That saves me a lot of grief! It is a shame that elder sims still don't have much going for them, but the new hairstyles are perfect for elders imo. I'm excited to use them on my elders. :)

I’m curious if the air guitar animation is just the guitar playing animation without a guitar? Maybe with a couple of extra bends or something to make it interesting.

All sims will auto start knitting if the basket is in their inventory so just remove it until you actually want them to knit

Darn my love for plushies, metal music, plants, and rocking chairs. And, yes, the knitting pun was intended (for those who don’t know, “darning” is mending a whole in a knitted item)

my game has horrific lag since I downloaded this yesterday 😭😭(on xbox) been looking forward to this pack since I heard it was coming out as I knit irl. What I've been able to do, I've enjoyed. One thing I would ask they change is asking when a sim sits down to knit by their own choosing if they want to start with a new item or finish off one already started (my sim had around 9 or 10 started items I had no idea they'd started!)
@playalot85134 жыл бұрын
If you take the knitting basket out of their inventory and then only drag it back into it when you want them to knit it stops this annoying behavior

I haven't got the pack yet, but I am curious....has anyone tried to make a 'knitting club' in game? (aka a Stitch n Bitch group)? (And I agree with some of the previous comments. The pack could have tied in nicely with stylist/designer, sewing/needlework/textiles trades and careers).

Out of curiosity... Can you make a guide on how to play Sims in "hard mode"? Like the hardest start possible, hardest job, & stuff
@elainal68474 жыл бұрын
There is a memory system and its terrible and I only found out about it watching videos from the very beginning of Sims 4. You can take a screenshot of a moment and make it a memory for a sim in the screenshot. Then you have to open your screenshots and on the screenshot click the to have the sim remember it BUT new screenshots are on the bottom so the more you make screenshots the harder it is to find something to add that memory moodlet to your sim. I play legacy style so Moschinos added depth to photo-taking for cataloging my Sims generations and their personality in images was awesome for me and having a skill that can take generations to unlock all the options in one household also works for my long gameplay style.
@playalot85134 жыл бұрын
Sadly this feature was very different when the game launched in 2014 and was actually incredibly useful. Then the devs 'tweaked' it and really isn't worth bothering about anymore.
@elainal68474 жыл бұрын
@@playalot8513 I didn't even search for it until 2018 and it was tedious to locate and I absolutely agree. I honestly think the whims system suffered the same fate when an executive decision was made to move beyond the feature.

If they can put this kind of shopping system in the game, i have hope for more store ideas later on. So hope grocery shopping and clothing stores make a come back. I want my sims to be challenged to work for what they want to own depending on their skills, financial situation and character.
@Johanna77777-z4 жыл бұрын
I don't really see how this shopping system adds more than the "buy books" system from base game?
Honestly, I only buy these things for the stuff. But I'll have to wait for it to be discounted before I buy it :p

My sim ONLY wanted to knit. She was in the education career and she wouldn’t grade papers - she only wanted to knit! 🤦🏾♀️ My sim has the new aspiration and also has the maker trait, so maybe that combo creates a deadly obsession (not that she has died but she’d also rather knit than sit down to eat too, but that’s also an issue I’ve had since eco so can’t blame this pack).

As always awesome review, sadly since the Update The Sims 4 is almost unplayable do to the bug where the Sims always break up whatever I want them to do to play on Smartphone, Computer or Dance. Even though I told them in the options not to do anything on their own :S This bug is so annoying and pretty much game breaking, but The Sims 4 Team doesn't care because they don't play their own game, or else I don't know how they not fix it yet! Also what is up with the obsession of making cakes xD
