Carly was the voice of America for so many years. So recognizable. Part of our day to day lives, without thinking about it. The voice of a generation.

I will NEVER tire of watching or listening to Carly Simon. After hearing "Anticipation" on KQEO radio (1971) I begged my dad to take me to "Woolco" where my siblings and I bought our records. I was 10 years old (I'm now 53!) and eager to buy my first Carly LP. I was hold up in my bedroom for the next few days playing the album over and over learning all the lyrics. I was hooked. From that moment on Carly has been my favorite singer/songwriter/performer. I went back the next week to buy the previous self titled LP . . . and then every subsequent album on the day of its release. My proud collection includes every Carly release on LP, cassette and CD (as I transitioned over the years) as well as all the 45's. Carly Simon you are amazing!

This woman is magic. I've seen her home and property on the vineyard and walked along the dirt covered lanes that abut her home...the feel of the place is other worldly. No wonder she loves the place. I get the same feeling at Midnight Farm in Vineyard Haven. Seeing her interact with her children like this is so sweet....what man wouldn't be blessed to share his life with her. I know that I'd make one great boyfriend for her.

Carly is incredible fantastic singer, song writer still such a beautiful sexy lady. Such an intelligent honest person. After reading her two books I feel like I know her. She talks about her life in her songs you can see right into her soul . I love her relationship with her kids and I love seeing them perform together. When her and Ben sing together it’s like going back in time he sounds so much like James. She is so articulate you can actually see her think before she speaks. We’re about the same age I was married to the father of my daughter and son when her and James were married. My kids are very close in age to Sally and Ben. Like Carly and James that marriage ended. I love James have all music both him and Carly have put out. I got to see James in concert about 12 years ago in my life I’ve seen hundreds of concerts in the 60-80’s from Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix to Pink Floyd In the 90’s I saw The Moody Blues in 1970 took my first acid trip while listening to them.. Spyro Gyro in 90’s other jazz groups than in 98 my son bought me tickets to see James Taylor incredible and that was my last concert. On my bucket list will always be to see Carly live but I don’t hold high hopes for that. So I relish in the performance s I’ve seen on DVD the Martha’s Vineyard, the Grand Central Station concert and when she’s performed with her kids on talk shows. I love that Carly openly talks about James I believe she will always love him she said in an interview a couple of years ago she spends time with James in her dreams and she freely can discuss him and the time they were married. She said that James has the Berlin Wall between them and he never talks about her that once he ran a slide show but there were no pictures of Carly He did call her when she had cancer and he told her please let them get it all if they have to take a fingernail an eyelash let them take it if it means saving your life. That sounds like love to me. She told him he could call her anytime he thought of her even if he didn’t say anything was than that’s all I’d be doing. Do you realize how many of his old songs were written about Carly I’m surprised that his ugly jealous wife lets him sing them. I still love his music but I have lost a lot of respect for James. His bitter ugly wife is so jealous she probably doesn’t like to be around Sally because she favors Carly. The bitter wife obviously wears the pants and the only Taylor kids she acknowledges are hers and James. I was married for 15 years and we have 2 kids and now 2 grandkids My 2nd and last husband as 3 kids from his ex 5 grandkids and 3 great grandkids I have no problem with his ex- wife my ex and I have a great divorced relationship. My God we shared a life we were in love a long time ago brought 2 kids into the world as did James and Carly but he can’t talk about her. Before our world changed due to Covid 19 Carly was going to perform at Madison Square Garden Livingston Taylor was going to preform as he referred to Carly as his dearest beloved friend. Wouldn’t it be great if Carly and James could reunite on stage to preform one of their songs but no James wife is to jealous. I love my husband with all my heart and soul he’s the only man for me. I’m not in love with my ex- husband but we are friends I love him as I do an old friend and that’s the way it should be especially when you have little grandkids .We live in different states my son lives in my state and my daughter in another away from both of us we can all visit his wife and I have a good relationship as does my husband with him and her. We are Facebook friends and there have been times if we had Tornados or worse and he can’t get a hold of my son he’ll call me. When I was in critical condition he would call my husband to check on me. My point is wake up James don’t let the hag your married to control you, your two sons with her aren’t your only kids . You and Carly were married but you we also performers collaborators I love your music but I want to respect you again

Isn't it totally amazing Debbie that we can have such deep and strong feelings for two people that we don't even know. But we were raised up on their music and we love their music, and love them still. We know a true love story when we see it.💖 And we can't help but root for it even though it's over. Something inside of us wants to believe that there's still hope. Carly Simon and James Taylor are soulmates. No other marriages can replace that. It's just sad to see such love in her face for him. In her eyes a little bit of Sheen from tears unshed. I saw an interview of James Taylor now that he's older and the interviewer did bring up Carly, and the interviewer said " I know you don't like to talk about her." And he said: "No I don't mind talking about Carly." But what was weird was the interviewer cut him off when he started to say something and expound on Carly. I was so upset with the interviewer for cutting him off. I say just like you, it's a true love story and the bitter wife, which I know nothing about it at all, you obviously know something I don't know. I think that she knows though. She must know that James still loves Carly and always will. Otherwise she would have nothing to be bitter about! That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Sincerely Tammie 💞

At 7 minutes 17 seconds when she says that "I have more feelings than I thought I'd have for him at this point" a tear💧 rolled down my cheek. I think anybody that's ever loved either one of these two people, Carly Simon and James Taylor, they're just like bread and butter, salt and pepper, sugar in milk, Love and Hate. So sad so so sad that the drugs got in the way. Cuz I could just see them together forever. My 36 year old son is a lovely Lyricist and guitar player. And he has a drug issue. I wish that he could have followed in James footsteps and got off the drugs at a young age. But too bad James couldn't have succeeded before his marriage ended to Carly. So he could have made generations of people happy. And maybe just maybe they'd still be together making beautiful 🎶 music!💞

Relaxed interview with Carly Simon...Interesting way to explain the complexity of love and relationships beginning at 7:55 "...I'm not one of those people who really can turn it off, it comes back to me with tentacles of anger, despair, and love and humbleness and all kinds of things..." "It Happens Everyday" - is one of her best and one of my favorites as the lyric is sentimental and sweet, reaching back for the memories of love, not wanting to forget.
