Just one more of those extremely rare, special, one-of-a-kind people who come along periodically who funcion as open channels for those amzing and beautiful gifts that come from that other space. I guess that's one definition of a true artist which she, definitely, is. I can't think of anyone in my experience who speaks with such clarity and specificity. There is a spare brightness about the way she puts words together and expresses herself in conversation which then doesn't surprise me that she weaves words and messages so beautifully into her music and writing

Anyone who envy’s her for the great life she has is doing it wrong, because happiness comes from within and a wise person can find joy and happiness whether living with little or a lot. That is the truth. My mother ran the house, but the worst words we could ever hear from her was, "Wait til your father comes home!" When we were younger she took care us on the spot with quick wack, or worse (for the older brother) with a bar of soap in his mouth. They were in 100% compliance, towards us kids, and it worked to perfection, but concerning all matters, my dad was the boss.

There should NEVER be a hierarchy in any human relationship. That is a very archaic view. No human should have to answer to another human. Relationships broke down in patriarchal societies as well. There should never be a boss because it creates imbalance and allows for bullying and spousal abuse. It also puts pressure on a man. Each person should being their strengths to a relationship. I am very surprised at this woman to make such a statement who is an influential figure but if that works in her marriage so well and good but it must not be advocated for everybody. I think this is her second marriage though

A good relationship has nothing to do with being boss or not. The notion itself is a contradiction.

It’s easy to become successful when you come from the kind of money that Carly comes from. It’s easy to take all of the time that you need on your artistry because money is no object.

Her father was voted off the board of the co that bore his name. There was a time when he struggled very much financially. Don’t make assumptions just because of the name. And it’s not necessarily easily. And she suffered from all sorts of emotional problems...stage fright, manic depression, anxiety, that all lead to huge mountains she had to climb

James peaked in the early 70s but he's managed to peddle that same sound for his entire career. And it's all about him.

Crap-- her son is "talented," but her daughter is "beautiful." Girls are just there to look good I guess.

Miranda Spencer I noticed it too. Yes she is. but I saw earlier interviews with him and he looked "handsome". Don't guess they would call him that so much as his obviously hereditary "male pattern baldness" seems to have started early for him. But they both sing with her as well as on their own. couldn't they just refer to them as very talented? Or beautiful offsprings? I mean, it makes Sally sound brainless, and Ben sound ugly to put it that way. it's like huh?

Well I think Miranda, that if you think you can accurately judge peoples long term relationships by a couple of adjectives, then you're doomed to be forever passing superficial judgements. Ever heard of the term "triggered"?
