from what i understood Carly had a connection with Japan before Call Me Maybe with her Folk indie 1st CD release Tug of War, Japan took her in before any one else outside of Canada knew her ,Also with her other Canadian EP Curiosity, She even did a bonus song for the Tug of War CD for Japan , This is more then likely why she released Emotion in Japan 1st ,,

+sincerelysheo maybe so, its in your mind not reality. reality for 80's is Carly Simon... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWGkaJ13i6mDgLc from 1987 "Coming Around Again" kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqXHpIiJariFras from 1987 The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2TVeIWrrLmVias from 1987 "Give Me All Night kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5qkdHqDaLabaM0 from 1987 All I Want Is You en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coming_Around_Again_(album) On AC not Billboard, but according to R & R /Gavin radio air play...Carly was #1 Coming, #4 Stuff, #5 Give, # 8 All. All because Carly Rae slows down the beat people think she's 80's, if that is so people want more from singers like Jepsen who give you pop trash. This is 1st song of hers that actually is good. Taylor isn't much better, she's hit and miss as far as true AC Pop from 80's. Neither qualifies for 80's sound. I called both 90's song. Only Carly Simon is truly 80's! Let me set the record straight! If you like Carly Simon, true 80's I suggest you subscribe to The AC Music Ch where we truly bring out the best of the past in today's singers... you won't hear all the bs of pop singers today[ nor conglomerate radio payola], incl only sporadic Jepsen, and Swift. What you will hear is Heritage style that made AC the #1 rated radio format in the world. Come join us, thx 4 your support.

E•MO•TION really was generational. Not necessarily because Carly was the first to get in on the 80s revival, but because the album was very much the benchmark for the style for a very long while. Not even mentioning how good it is lyrically, she just nails a perfect level of maturity and still relatabilty that most of her peers never really reached, even after the sub-genre hit its acme.

Yeah I love her bubblegum tracks lol she does it so well. I really like you is one of them
@mayeshachowdhuyr14089 жыл бұрын
i want a few but not a lot I think pop songs dominated Kiss and it just reinforced her as a mainstream pop artist & not someone who's really unique when it comes to their artistry plus songs like these really suits her voice I hope she brings back the vibe from her first album tug of war :)

***** I heard all of the album has to offer. It still has the joy of the bubblegum but has more of an emotional edge and sounds like a hipster record! I like it.

okay, I just heard the whole album and I take back what I said. This song is basically perfect, and the rest of the album is as good if not better!

Jade's new single - Angels of my dreams was totally inspired by this great song. Hope Carly it's getting all the credits for that, girls. The pop bible keeps inspiring the world after almost 10 years 💕💕

Talking to someone who doesn't quite seem to reciprocate the same level of interest in you as you is probably the worst most confusing feeling ever. Our emotions don't deserve to be kept in limbo but the heart's curiosity always insists we continue even if it's bound for heartbreak...."Just show me that you care..."

I am really digging this song. I love the instrumentation and production of this song, from the dark vibe, the melancholy guitars that add a nice touch to the song and the shimmering synthesizers that make this song pop out to me. Carly Rae Jepsen's vocal sound really good and makes this an excellent song. Well done :)

To any one outside of Canada it was her debut Album , She was doing good in Canada with Folk and Indie songs, Call Me May Be was written as a folk song her friend had her change it to pop.

Better than any pop song she came out with so far. Born in the 90s but a huge fan of the 80s influence. Progressive in a sense.
