Dealers were quick to inflate their prices when the shortage was there and make a big profit. Now they’re reluctant to lower the prices when there’s an abundance of prospective cars just greed.
@mof4104
@mof4104 8 ай бұрын
They can't really lower, cars are bought on loan, interest accrues longer it sits, the worse the return gets the harder to drop the price. If it was one car it'd be OK. But if you lose on every car you sell you'll go under.

Part of this is because when they couldn't get decent used cars, they paid way too much for them on trade in. Doesn't make me feel sorry for them, though.

@youwish3575 But if Dealers cut down on their allocations then the oems might have to reduce production. And if that continues even shutter plants. Cheap money and loosey goosey banks giving credit to sub prime is over. IMO, the high MSRP's are not sustainable. They are resisting and holding on to this pricing model but the customer will eventually have the final say.

I began by getting started on negotiating about the price.. This man then informed me that the price was set and non negotiable. I asked him why and he stated..."We conducted polls that showed consumers did not like to negotiate prices and wanted to see just the lowest price available". This was back in 2018. I asked him how they came to this being the lowest price and he said Carmax set the price and we are to pay it. I left

Here is a preview of what is coming when DJT returns to the White House in 2024 and Republicans finish taking over the three branches of government in 2026. They will enforce this law passed by Congress in 1991 during George "1000 Points of Light, a New World Order" Bush Sr's administration. I would like to post the number of this US Public Law, but KZbin will not allow it. I'm sure you can figure a way out how to find it. Whereas Congress *recognizes the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our, great Nation was founded;* Whereas *these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they were known as the Seven N-ahide Laws;* Whereas *without these ethical values and principles the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos; Whereas society is profoundly concerned with the recent weakening of these principles that has resulted in crises that beleaguer and threaten the fabric of civilized society; Whereas the justified preoccupation with these crises must not let the citizens of this Nation lose sight of their responsibility to transmit these historical ethical values from our distinguished past to the generations of the future;* Whereas the Lubavitch movement has fostered and promoted these ethical values and principles throughout the world; Whereas Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement, is universally respected and revered and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991: Whereas in tribute to this great spiritual leader, “the rebbe”, this, his ninetieth year will be seen as one of “education and giving”, the year in which we turn to education and charity to *return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven No-hide Laws:* and Whereas this will be reflected in an international scroll of honor signed by the President of the United States and other heads of state: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatites of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That March 26, 1991, the start of the ninetieth year of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the worldwide Lutbavitch movement. is designated as “Education Day. U.S.A.”. The President is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. What has been done, will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun. 2 Kings 22:10-13 10 Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king. 11 When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his robes. 12 He gave these orders to Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Akbor son of Micaiah, Shaphan the secretary and Asaiah the king’s attendant: 13 “Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.” We will be told the reason society, and the economy is the way it is today is because we did not pass on these Noah Laws as they said they would. The following is a partial listing of the Noa-ide Laws as derived from the Babylonian Talmud. Three of these Laws require the death penalty by beheading/guillotine when broken: Blasphemy, Idolatry and Sexual Immorality. (Note: Unlike in the Old and New Testament teaching “By the mouth of two or more witnesses..”, these Laws only require one accuser for the accused to be brought to the courts and condemned.) Idolatry: Must worship God alone. Must not worship any man (ie: Jesus) as God. No idols or statues. Do not bow to idols or statues. Do not offer sacrifices to idols or statues. Blasphemy: Do not curse God. Do not use God's name in vain. Worship the true God alone, do not worship false gods. (Worshiping Jesus is also seen as blasphemy.) Murder: Against murdering anyone, self defense is permitted. Mass murderers will be given the death penalty. (Abortion is classified as mass murder.) *Theft--Do not:* Steal. Rob. *Overcharge* -Have you noticed how many of today’s large corporations seem to be pushing the “progressive” message about “fairness, PRIDE, tolerance, inclusion, diversity, equity” while also overcharging for their products? And how many of these corporations are known to overwork and underpay their workers, reaping huge profits for themselves as they commit wage theft? Kidnap. Move a landmark. (Probably not good for BLM/Antifa activists who tear down historical landmarks.) Here is a “landmark” which was destroyed recently. Georgia Guidestones 1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. 2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity. 3. Unite humanity with a living new language. 4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason. 5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts. 6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court. 7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials. 8. Balance personal rights with social duties. 9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite. 10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature. ---If you want to know what the propaganda about climate change and going green is about, this is it. Do not use false weights and measurements. Do not covet. (I would think this applies to Socialists who believe they should receive the benefits of other people's work.) Sexual Immorality--No: Bestiality Incest Homosexuality Barack Obama was “controlled opposition”, a descendant of King John and Charlemagne, as have been all of the US's "elected" Presidents. The homosexuals have been promised increased rights and privileges, tolerance and inclusion, thinking they are being “normalized” in our society. They have been manipulated into exposing themselves publicly for elimination. The Government now has marriage records, phone and text records (Patriot Act) and online records (Earn It bill) which will be used against them. Prevention of animal cruelty. Do not eat an animal while it is still alive. Do not eat flesh of animal torn apart by a wild animal *Justice Law - Against* *Bribery* Favoritism -Although called the “Equal Opportunity Act”, what we have seen are people being hired or promoted not for their talents, skills and education, but based on the color of their skin, gender and sexual orientation (even if they are not qualified for the job or promotion), otherwise known as “intersectionality”. Is this “equality”, or favoritism? Condemning the innocent Must administer the death penalty Treat people equally before the law

Once people are forced to keep their older cars on the road because they can’t afford to replace it, hopefully they will realize that it’s not such a bad thing to keep a car for longer. A 1990 Cadillac Allante' was the one if the biggest crap boxes GM ever made electrical nightmare from the Hook & Tow 4.1L 4100 to the head bolt and gaskets chewing Northstar. These cars at Mecum auction in great shape with low miles run for around 4500.00 to 6500 at max. There was one of these there and it brought with 55,000 miles and a 1992 model highest bid 4950.00. This was 6 months ago and one 1993 model sold at Barrett Jackson last year for 3,500 and the auctioneer said this was the cheapest car they sold that day, I guess the owner wanted to unload this crap box at any price.These cars were sold bad when they were 5 to 7 years old in great shape. These were a beater row special at 1,995 to 3,495 special back in 1997-2000. Most were junked because of engine and electrical nightmare to work on and by 1997 no Cadillac(GM) dealers had no support or parts and by 2003 pretty much extinct. These were another l failure like the 30K Lebaron TC By Masserri (K Car) from 1989-1992 which is another rare crap box not worth buying. I watch Mecum and Barrett Jackson all the time and when both these turds come across the block they always bring less than 6,500 in perfect shape.Not highly sought after at all. I would imagine any major engine parts for a Hook & Tow 4100 would be extinct by now as 1988-1990 last years. Even the Cadillac 4.5 engine they used was good but major parts for the engine are nearly impossible to find unless you go to a junk yard or U Pull A Part or LKQ.

I've heard this same story for the last 18 months - prices on the wholesale market tanking yet retail sales prices still not affected. Meanwhile the OEMs continue to move upmarket with their model mix and continue to increase MSRP. Inventory continuing to raise on new / used car lot with interest rates continuing to ratchet up as well - this should be the "perfect storm" of retail prices crashing but still nothing significant on that front yet.... Right now buying new at significant discount off MSRP and/or 0% interest is probably the best way to go.

Our economy being so top-down (opposite of free markets) creates a situation where the supply side of the demand-supply equation gets unnatural precedence. This means companies are able to make decisions without addressing the actual demand of the costumer. Too many big businesses are protected by government collusion, it is literally them versus us. In a true free market the demand side of the demand-supply equation is much stronger and companies have to adhere to what the customer is communicating. But when there are government subsidies for big companies keeping them afloat despite poor businesses practices, well you see the result.

She didn't really care about the money. It had 75K miles. My kids know they will end up with it. The Hemi can last 300,000 miles. The EPA forced them to try and improve fuel economy. Pumping less oil is one of the ways to improve. However, at low engine RPM along with the too thin oil recommendation, it doesn't lube the top end enough. I am in Australia. My local Volvo Dealership is extremely overstocked with new small Chinese Made Volvos. Electric / Hybrid / Petrol. Still asking Top Dollar. Volvos are meant to come from Europe. Love my 2015 V60. Keeping it as a backup. About order BMW i4. There prices are realistic in AUD :) Love your work

(Also in Australia) BMWs aren't what they used to be, mind you. But very nice to drive nonetheless.

The problem with Legacy car manufactures they just make vehicles more and more, they should only make them if they are sold Period. Then they could truely understand how well they market was doing.

In New Mexico, the sales tax is 4% plus you are going to want a mechanical inspection, plus clean air inspection and state motor vehicle licensing. Additional cost could approach 10% and jeeds to be factored into purchase price.

Carmax used to be a good deal. We bought a 2001 loaded out Ford Expedition in 2002 for $21,000 with 20,000 miles on it when the same new model was running $35,000 to $37,000. But, who is going to pay about the same price for used as they can get a new one for?

You'd think that reality would set in for these dealers both new and used. No one is going to pay these prices. Oh well, lose your business. I won't be shedding a tear.

New and used dealerships in my area are packed with cars. Even our local Kubota dealer can't sell anything. Luckily the prices are coming down slightly. Frontiers went from 49k to 45k since August.

It's insane how super average medium to low quality brands are pricing cars at levels only the top 5% could afford. And how their cars are getting smaller as prices go up. Your average family could never afford a family sized car in 2023. Even the latest BMW X5 no longer has 7 seats. With all their automation and outsourcing... if they can't figure out how to make cars people can afford... in the richest country on earth... they deserve to go out of business. Nobody wants to pay $100k for anything with a Ford badge.

They can, but there are enough buyers at the higher price points to justify their money grab, especially if they suppress new inventory.

@@EMichaelBall obviously not. Or there wouldn't be a video about how they can't sell them.

Carmax offered me $5800 for my 2012 Jeep JK 2-dr that is very clean and runs perfect. I will be keeping it well into the 250k mile range before I sell/scrap it. You cannot find a 2012 2-dr JK on Carmax for less that $12k....That is the spread! Be very aware of what you buy on Carmax and what you pay for it. Very aware!

My 1992 Jeep Sahara (like new condition) is over $15,000. It may partially because of collector status. All prices are out of hand right now.

@@carquestionsanswered I saw several comments that you were wrong, calling that Taurus a "show". It's an S.H.O. Well, for many years I drove an 89 sho, which is short for Shogun. S.H.O. Super High Output was an acronym Ford came up with instead of Shogun. They were called Shogun because they had a tricked out Yamaha engine in them.

Look at their prices online, they are still way out of whack. I found an identical card that was being sold by Carmax and a local dealer. Pretty much the same mileage. The Carmax car was 25% more.

Long story read if you want Bought a used car from Carnax last year and it ran like brand new.. for about 3 days. Took it to the service depo bc they assumed the system needed to be reset just for them to tell me there was a leak. They told me it would take a week to have that piece repaired and that week turned into 2 which then led to an entire month. I didn’t have the car for the entire month…Anyways they “fixed the issue” but it led to other issues happening in the car that were not present when I first purchased (ex: the car smoking) Luckily Carmax has that 30 day return policy but it forced me to make a month long decision in the span of 2 days. I obviously returned it and got my money back. “We do thorough checks on ALL our cars” is what I was told. I’m not a car person so idk what could have happened in just 3 days however I do know now that that car was not worth the price. Edit: I was offered max care but later found out I would have to re-sell the car back to them so that they could charge me an extra 4k😭
