This video came about because of a dare that was put out by a certain KZbinr named Jake Taller. He said, and I quote, “I freaking dare anyone, ANYONE AT ALL, to make a mashup video of this version of the song mixed with the To Steal or Not to Steal bonus scene. That will completely make my day.“ Another KZbinr named New3DSLUIGI364 said, and I quote, “I WANT TO HEAR THAT TOO!!! I want to hear Rockapella sing this along side the cast of Netflix’s Carmen Sandiego 2019 reboot!!!” And I responded by saying, “OK. If nobody else will do it, I will. I accept your challenge.“ So that’s exactly what I did. I took the bonus scene from the Carmen Sandiego interactive game and juxtaposed that against Sean Altman and David Yazbek‘s latest cover of the theme song from the original classic PBS Kids game show from the 90s. I even included snapshots of some of the actual map graphics used on the game show for the second bridge of the theme song. Anyways, I want to give a huge shout out to Jake Taller for giving me this idea and to New3DSLUIGI364 for seconding that motion. Thank you so very much. I couldn’t have done it without you. I hope you’re not disappointed at all. I look forward to hearing your input and what you have to say about this video. I hope you and anybody else watching enjoy this video.

@@FlickaLovaReturns I'm fine. I just watched that new Arthur special about their first day of fourth grade. I noticed everybody was wearing different outfits from what they'd normally wear on the show. I thought it was sad that Arthur and Buster were no longer in the same class, but the bright side is they could still hang out after school. Rattles had a great idea there mKing them meet new friends. For the first time, I found out that Emily's last name is Leduc. Where that name came from, I don't know. Alex I've seen on this show many times, but this is the first time he and Arthur actually had a conversation. I loved that Peter Pan reference in Muffy's daydream after she lost Emily. Even though she messed up, she was willing to make it up to her. It was cool that D.W. and her new teacher had the same first name. I'm just putting stuff out there at random. I thought it was a great show, and wish that they had continued with this storyline in future episodes. Who knows? Too bad Arthur's getting cancelled next year. Maybe Arthur can have a new web series for Amazon Prime and KZbin, like what they did with Caillou.

~ After the song (naturally, lifted from the 1990 to 1995 _Where in the World_ PBS game show [usually shortened to _WiTiCS?_ for brevity's sake] & originally sung by acapella house band Rockapella [at the time, the members were: Sean Altman, Scott Leonard, Elliot Korman, Barry Carl, Jeff Thatcher, etc.]) ends -- and before Chief (who is a callback to Lynne Thigpen as the head of ACME for the PBS game shows & also sparingly the Squidward-sounding C.H.I.E.F from the 1994 _Where On Earth_ cartoon voiced by Rodger Bumpass, since the Netflix version is clearly a homage to Lynne Thigpen predominately, but carries the holographic abilities, the blond hair & utilizes the silver & pale blue color scheme of C.H.I.E.F's intentionally discarded robotic body on the much-missed ex-Broadway actress's ACME TimeNet blazer from the brief 1997 to 1998 _Where in Time_ sequel PBS game show & the interstellar _Where in the Universe_ planetarium show) can interject by asking viewers to go through all 8 possible endings of the "interactive" episode (although there are only 2 good endings to 6 bad endings in total) as a personal challenge -- "The Lady in Red" herself speeds by on her hang glider (before hastily landing to catch a momentary breather, albeit only temporarily, obviously realizing all too well that nosy ACME's on her trail & that her former colleagues/teachers from VILE are also more than likely monitoring her exploits, too) ~ *Carmen Isabella Sandiego: "I have been right here the entire time, you guys. All of that footage of me globe-trotting was pre-recorded for edutainment purposes as well as future posterity.* (This is, of course, a callback to Lynne Thigpen's disclaimer whenever reruns of the game show started airing once the world had changed [1], stating, "All information was accurate the date this program was recorded.") *Still love the timeless tune, though. Mr. Altman should be proud it can stand up alongside many popular tracks across the generations, as indicated by his "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? VS Number 1 Hits" video uploaded to his personal KZbin channel. See you next crime, detectives!"* ~Notes left by "Black Sheep" after her rapid departure to be read to the wondering public~ 1. Following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia *(into the Czech Republic & Slovakia, respectively, which I had nothing to do with, mind you, as that was merely geo-political issues in effect, although my much worse, older PBS counterpart actually had Double Trouble legitimately nab the World Trade Center/the Twin Towers years before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks committed by Osama Bin Laden's Al Queda regime, but as expected for a PBS kid's game show, the stolen goods were recovered & the monochrome, color-blocked twosome were put in the slammer [see the episode "The Taking of the Towers"])* in the early '90s, the maps used for _WiTiCS?_ became outdated after the first couple of seasons & needed to be changed. The giant map of the United States used for the 3rd round of the show *(where the last gumshoe left standing would place giant flashing markers on 6-8 specific locations in under a minute in an attempt to capture my older, villainous self & therefore, win the designated grand prize)* was done away with completely once the grand prize was slightly altered from the surviving gumshoe winning a trip to anywhere in the lower 48 United States to instead, being allowed to go presumably anywhere in North America once certain places in Canada & Mexico were also added as destination options, too. And as "Special Agent in Charge of Training New Recruits"/host Greg Lee *(whom beautifully adorkable Julia "Jules" Argent's quasi-sexist, ex-Interpol inspector superior Chase appears to be very, very loosely based upon [to be fair to Greg, he's also taken after Shadow Hawkins from the early millennial games], meanwhile Graham "Crackle" Gray would find that he's actually based on rookie hotshot no-good-nick Lee Jordan from the 1994 **_Where on Earth_** cartoon, who not only quit ACME like my previous incarnations had, but he even attempted to outdo my 1994 animated counterpart -- who was voiced by Cookie Booker's current voice actress & retired Broadway dame, Rita Moreno -- by taking her/our suspected father & simultaneously super rich philanthropist Malcom Avalon hostage & also visibly threatening to outright destroy trailing Junior Detective gumshoes Zack & Ivy -- Yes, the fraternal twin sibling duo proudly worked for ACME in the 1994 cartoon & were tasked with either arresting my 1994 animated counterpart or swaying her back to the side of the good guys, which did occasionally happen, albeit sparingly, although it ultimately led to my existence as the younger, more heroically noble version of "La Femme Rouge" in the 2018 Netflix reboot of the franchise -- if she didn't comply & rob for him until he's finally defeated in that series' final episode, seemingly making him one of the worse criminals in the franchise overall, only just behind corrupt psychiatrist Dr. Maelstrom, who was the first crook my 1994 animated counterpart sent to a lifetime in prison back when she had worked for ACME [to enact revenge, Dr. Maelstrom eventually orchestrates an elaborate phony mock trial to guiltily condemn my 1994 animated counterpart to the same prison lifetime sentence as himself, regardless of her reminding him that she had become a gentlewoman thief strictly for the thrill of the chase rather than any sort of monetary gain, nor the proud satisfaction of being publicly recognized for her elaborate heists, because she still retained the high standard of ethical morals the Hugo Strange of our V.I.L.E lineup had discarded himself several years ago]; However, ever since the 2018 Netflix reboot, newly retitled Professor Maelstrom has gracefully eased slowly but confidently into a teaching job as one of the key faculty members at the V.I.L.E Academy school for aspiring thieves)* would generally say to the studio audience & the viewers watching at home, "That's not bad, ladies & gentlemen." But, of course, before attempting to go after "The Lady in Red" (with the chances of winning being slimmer than losing primarily for budgetary reasons, obviously, although some gumshoes did still win nonetheless throughout the full 5 season run of the show), the surviving gumshoe had to recover the stolen loot in a switchboard matching game of sorts against the 2nd gumshoe who moved on from the 1st round (going in the sequential order of: The Loot [as it pertains to the PBS game show, Rockapella would often try to make Greg Lee laugh by busting out humorous things about the filched item], The Warrant *["The Warrant!"]* and the name of the episodic minion [the secondary crook's name is said aloud]), put said secondary criminal behind bars *("P-p-Patty!" [a deceptively picture-perfect doe-eyed blond girl who referred to her boss as "Auntie Carmen", suggesting that Patty Larceny was the niece to this iteration of "The Queen of Crime"]; "Double Trouble {Double Trouble}!" [the aforementioned color-blocked pair of monochrome twin siblings who love to party]; "Contessa!" [an early version of Countess Cleo]; "Earth Brute!" [this brainless buffoon was reworked by the Netflix team into Coach Brunt]; "Top Grunge!" [a disgusting burly biker with terrible eating habits & even worse body odor]; "Robo-Crock!" [a mechanical robot explicitly programmed for thievery]; "Vic the Slick!" [a mustachioed sleazeball salesman wearing loud polyester suits]; "Wonder Rat!" [a snickering wannabe superhero dressed as a giant rodent that's actually an incognito criminal behind the mask & cape]; "Sarah Nade!" [a tone-deaf punk rocker with short rainbow hair, whose name is a wordplay on serenade]; and "Neemoi!" [the possibly copyright-infringing shapeshifting alien octopus is obviously named after actor Leonard Nimoy, who played the pointy-eared Spock on the original **_Star Trek_** TV series & even Neemoi's home planet itself was named after **_Star Trek_** creator, Gene Roddenberry] ..."IN JAIL!")* prior to jotting down the location of their choice inside of a faux leather portfolio folder should they win the grand prize trip. *("Where Do You Want to Go? Bum-bah-da-ooh!")* At the end, whether winning or losing in the final round, the gumshoe would be upgraded to a sleuth & Greg Lee would remind them that there was one more they would have to do before the memorable credits roll & that's lead into the theme song with the ending tagline call-out: *"Do it Rockapella!"* In the 2018 franchise reboot's case, it would now be: *"Do it, Netflix cast!"*

I think they based Coach Grunt after Eartha Brute from the PBS game show. She is basically Eartha Brute version 3.0. Does anyone else agree?
@TherealRNOwwfpooh2 жыл бұрын
Yes, she is. The Chief is very much based on Lynne Thigpen's iconic portrayal. Coach Brunt is a reworked Eartha Brute. Contessa's also made the leap from the PBS game show's Rouges Gallery, too. Known V.I.L.E villains Maelstrom (he's the most well-known baddie whom former ACME agent Carmen Sandiego had put behind bars according to her past character history) & mad scientist Sara Bellum & cat burglar Tigress all come from the _Where On Earth is Carmen Sandiego?_ 1994 FOX cartoon animated by DiC Entertainment. Although fraternal sibling twins Zack & Ivy also featured in the old series too, they had actually first debuted in the Junior Detective Editions of the classic computer games put out by Broderbund/The Learning Company prior to that. Similarly, although Player (essentially seen here as the Wade to Carmen's _Kim Possible_ for an appropriate parallel comparison, given the matching animation style) also came from the 1994 cartoon (therein, he/she was represented by a live action child interacting with the gumshoes & Carmen through a computer screen), the character was basically meant to reflect us children who had grown up playing the 1980's _Carmen Sandiego_ computer games that first started this franchise off. Of course, the dancing guards are voiced by _WITWICS?_ songwriter Sean Altman (former OG Rockapella front man and inventor of the theme song) & his musical collaborator David Yazbek (whose freshly updated backing track for the iconic earworm theme song was used for both the Netflix call back to the PBS game show in the "Interactive" _To Steal or Not To Steal_ episode & this music video [after the song was obviously uploaded to Sean Altman's personal KZbin channel in multiple formats, from the expected Acapella & then Rock, Karaoke, Instrumental, Funk, and Dance Mix variants]). Borderline sexist veteran ACME agent Chase Devinaux was ported directly from the PS2/GameCube era video games, however his middle-age yet still youthful look was intentionally patterned after "Senior Agent of Training New Recruits" funnyman host Greg Lee from the PBS game show. Conversely, Crackle (real name: Graham Gray) appears to be predominately based upon hotshot rookie ACME agent gone to seed Lee Jordan from the 1994 FOX cartoon (the latter openly actually sought to usurp Carmen from atop the criminal throne, however Lee Jordan wrongfully discredits the honorable moral foresight Carmen's usually possessed that has made her unforgettable, since Carmen -- from the very beginning of her creation, in fact, because she was created to teach world geography & culturally appropriate history to ignorant children who otherwise wouldn't have learned them any other way --- only steals things for the thrill of the pursuit rather than genuine monetary gain or some other vain narcissistic reason, since she didn't need the money [Indeed, she certainly has to be quite financially stable, given the lavish nature of her grand escapades, basically stealing famous landmarks & historically significant items that would generally be nigh impossible to make off with in real life, but clearly make for great fun to be had by cross-generational computer game/video game junkies, history buffs, schoolteachers & their students, and regular viewers of publicized edutainment programming] and already had developed an established following across both sides of the law --- that is, she has rightfully earned a sense of respect from ACME & V.I.L.E, respectively -- whereas Lee Jordan simply turned to crime upon dropping out of ACME purely to placate his own selfish ego above anything else & was not above actively trying to purposefully murder trailing gumshoes Zack and Ivy, thereby subsequently leading to Carmen teaming up with the young fraternal twin sibling duo of Junior Detectives to personally thwart Lee Jordan's master plan to make himself the world's greatest thief at Carmen's expense). Tirelessly working under the borderline condescending (who simultaneously likes mansplaining meanwhile undercutting his female teammate's successes) & bluntly ignorant Chase Devinaux (which subsequently means that, like her old-fashioned cohort battling crime, she was also originally taken from the PS2/GameCube era _Carmen Sandiego_ video games), cutely adorkable ACME agent Julia Argent -- flirtatiously nicknamed "Jules" by "La Femme Rogue" (Ms. Argent's own affectionate codename for "The Lady in Red" often uttered in exasperation whenever Carmen eludes her grasp) herself, in an obvious reference to inventive scientific author Jules Verne (of _Journey Through the Center of the Earth_ & _20,000 Leagues Under the Sea_ recognition, whose work inspired the theme park creation of Disneyland's Tomorrowland or the more steampunk fantasy-driven Discovery Land that genuinely replaced Tomorrowland in Disneyland Paris & actually has more of an timeless endearing quality to it in comparison to the woefully outdated Tomorrowland, because Discovery Land is based on a far-distant future envisioned by past scientists that we as a human race have still not yet reached, much in the vein of the year 2020 being in our rearview mirror, thank goodness, however none of the space age advancements nor technological improvements seen in the 2020 depicted in the _Back to the Future_ film trilogy have made the jump from conceptualized ideas to our real world reality as of yet, because hoverboards, flying land vehicles, and the very notion of time travel itself do not currently exist) -- is Carmen's favorite ACME agent (who was hired by the ACME Detective Agency for her astute knowledge & savvy nature, which has resulted in her having a great repour with The Chief, but because she's still a novice in the field, Julia has to work under the initially unlikeable Chase, whose archaic ways of catching crooks has taken a hit since Carmen's entered the picture, seeing as how our titular morally ambiguous thief has fairly easily slipped out of trouble far more than he's willing to publicly admit, which unfortunately has led to him berating his female teammate for his own personal faults rather than choosing to acknowledge these internal struggles himself until we finally see that, deep down, he honestly does care underneath his gruff, blustering demeanor near the end of season 1), with Carmen even romantically sending Jules some flowers (although these were NOT part of the listed itinerary of items, the roses [that were hopefully NOT stolen but genuinely purchased] with accompanying vase were secretly delivered unseen alongside "The Loot" -- as Rockapella would say -- that was reclaimed by Carmen from her former friends working for V.I.L.E, thus allowing "Jules" to have her associates at ACME promptly return the stolen goods back to their proper locations; This came after Julia actually dressed up as "La Femme Rogue" herself to help Carmen evade brainwashing by V.I.L.E, because Ms. Argent really doesn't want V.I.L.E to turn Carmen back to a life of villainy, yet she knows this newest version of Carmen wouldn't fare much better as an ACME agent either, since the former "Black Sheep" of V.I.L.E's class of aspiring criminals-in-training doesn't seem to take orders well upon uncovering the cunning deception of V.I.L.E's very existence and not really being up for becoming an all-out "goody two-shoes" fighting global injustice like her favorite ACME agent, because Gina Rodrigues' younger Carmen is canonically BISEXUAL, as is "Jules" herself, which has led to fans shipping them (other fans ship Red X Crackle aka Carmen X Graham, which has also received some ship tease in the Netflix reboot, particularly once the latter gets amnesia & loses memory of his past life as a V.I.L.E student, but has flashes of it upon reconnecting with Carmen, even though by the time of their reuniting, Carmen had long since by then intentionally left V.I.L.E behind to seek out her own independence, more or less working both ACME agents & V.I.L.E's Rouges Gallery of memorable baddies against each other, in order to live her modestly undercover life as a much more heroically noble character than she has ever been portrayed before). Other characters, like gay criminal tandem Topo and Le Chev as well as ninja star throwing villainess Paper Star are solely exclusive to the recent Netflix reboot of the _Carmen Sandiego_ franchise, however, but are welcomed additions to the growing character lineup.

I found this video this morning by a guy named Ottavio Forte. (Any relations with Deborah Forte, of Scholastic?) You might want to check this out. This guy made a Clifford puppet with eyes that light up! You can find that video here: archive.org/details/snafuinfinityCLIFFORD-The_Big_Red_Dog-CL19. They should make a live-action version for adults called "Where In The F**k Is Carmen Sandiego?!" CCH Pounder would make a good Chief. Already has the vibe and energy of being in that position as DC Comics' Amanda Waller. In her younger days, even looked like the late Lynne Thigpen a little

@@HuskyDog88 Add adorkable Julia (or "Jules" as Carmen prefers to call her) to the list also, although she more spoke-sang than actually carried a tune. The Cleaners, too, were excellent, but this can be chalked up to the fact that they're voiced by the OG songwriters Sean Altman & David Yazbek.
