Recently, I decided to research the later part of the history of slot machines, and I learned about the Bally 809 with its five-coin multiplier, and its early use of the double bar and triple bar symbols so popular on today's slot machines. Apparently, the symbols originated on its predecessor, the 808, so indeed it is very important historically.

Just bought my fist machine, a Bally 5000 plus, wondering if 30900 play count is average or high mileage? That 1967 is really cool too!

Sounds like low mileage to us. Enjoy and thanks for watching

hey i have a Bally's EM slot machine i believe 1976 and looks almost identical to that one! have a question and hope you can help me out?!!! now everything is there, its complete! it powers as it should and when you put a dollar coin in it excepts it but there must be a short somewhere because after it accepts the coin it doesnt trigger solenoid relay switch which releases the lock on the pull arm? now you can open the door and trip the relay by reaching in with your finger and making the contacts touch yourself and then the pull arms free and you can spin the reels and it plays as it should! but once it has a coin in it makes a humming noise like its grounded until manually triping that pull arm relay!? any suggestions?

We would, on occasion, rip off a candle. The boss said that's a candle, not a handle!😅
