Eddie Muller continues to be my favorite film professor. I could listen to his brilliant, finely crafted insights on noir and his stories about the constellation of characters...for hours. Please keep posting these clips! I particularly like the unforgettable rhumba scene. With Dr. Muller's connoisseur's stamp of approval, I want to re-visit the movie. Who knew that creepy TV mom had once been jaw-droppingly beautiful?!

DeCarlo was always stunning in Technicolor, but for me this B/W film shows off her beauty even more! Also her acting was top drawer.

Mr. Muller, I like the tie you are wearing here. Tom Pedi! I just googled him after an episode of The Mary Tyler Show where he appeared as Lou Grant's bookie. Googling him brought me here. Watching YDC dancing in this clip, I thought it was Lauren Bacall at first.

Yvonne DeCarlo is outstanding and Franz Planer was a great cinematographer!

No one else could have scored this film as brilliantly as Miklos Rozsa. It's as if he was born to write noir scores. Thatbthis film is as justly well regarded as it is is due in no small part to his contribution.

My vote is for Yvonne. She's not a copy of those other dames.

Does Eddie always blink so much? Not a problem but it's standing out to me
