Unfair conments about his acting . Plenty out there equal..love nocturne dialogue racy and sharp.

The only one to correctly pronounce short-lived with a long I.

I remember really liking The Babe Ruth Story as a kid. So much so that when I saw images of the real Babe Ruth, it took me a while to separate him from William Bendix.

TCM's camera work and lighting in this clip is execrable. And the 'I' in 'short-lived' is short. And what Jim Glennon has to do with it is a mystery.

I thought it wonderful.

"Hairy-chested" means "having a hairy chest." "Pug-nosed" means "having a pug nose." "Short-lived" means "having a short life" so the I should be pronounced long but almost no one does. I'm not arguing, just defending Eddie.

The camera work is by he person who used a video camera to shoot this piece off their TV and post it here. It also explains the lighting.

The lobby cards for this movie were what would be called "clickbait" today.

He was to stoic of an actor.

Seems almost fashionable for these critics to deride George Raft’s acting. Pretentious.

The world's oldest profession is.... Motherhood, actually. Just ask Erma Bombeck.

I've tried to like Raft. He was great in "Some Like it Hot." 😁

TheSaltydog07, dig up a few of Raft's earlier films. He shows a lot more acting talent. 😁

I'm debating this, and maybe iT's my age, but I'm at a loss for that outfit Eddie is wearing. Sort of like flag colors with a tinge of light blue. He's right about Red Light being biblical noir, making iT clownish as film noir. I can't believe good boy George did yet another movie where his character wasn't still living with ma.
