Great in depth review of this excursion. Usually I’m not a fan of excursions with animals; at least these live in the “wild”. Thanks for sharing.

Thankee! Yes, I figured we had to do Stingray City at least once and it was nice to do an animal interaction that didn't involve them being in a pen swimming in circles. These guys know to show up for food every day, haaah... :D

That traffic cop guy was so energetic and fun! I wanted to just sit and watch him do his thing...I love it when people are happy doing their job...it is contagious! I'm so glad I found the first part of your Stingray City adventures. Thanks for sharing and excellent job like always PDJ!!

I was on Grand Cayman a couple of years ago on a cruise. Took a private taxi tour that took in the Dolphin experience (Viewing only) and then went inside the turtle farm. Had a great time there and it did not cost much money.

Nice! We've done tours before that included the turtle farm, and that's always fun. Never saw a dolphin viewing there. That's cool!! :D

Hi guys love ur blogs. I look forward to them every morning at 7am Wisconsin time. Grand Cayman is one of our favorite stops. Every island we stop at we buy a Christmas ornament. Then when we put them on the tree we all share a favorite memory from that island. So fun.
@parodeejay6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! We used to grab the occasional ornament back when we started cruising, and I sort of wish we'd kept that up. That's a great way to look back and remember your cruises!!

Great video! Loving the “subtitles” ;) we swam with the stingrays in Half Moon Cay and loved it! The water was a little deep for me so I had to wear a life vest but it was so cool to be able to touch and feed them :)

Thankee! That's awesome... we've never done an excursion at Half Moon, and our only future stop got changed to Princess Cays instead, so... ha ha... Glad you had some fun stingray experiences as well though!! :D

The BEST excursion I ever took. It was amazing. Got some awesome videos. Waves were 5 ft wwhen we went. So cool. Glad you guys enjoyes it too. Got my 7 years good luck kissing a Sting ray. Love love love Grand Cayman.

This was definitely a great one... wow, you had 5 foot waves out at the sandbar? Yow!!

Stingrays feel amazing to touch, I dont know about your excursion but I was on one where they swam around your legs and ooooh that's such an unusual feeling! Cruises are so awesome so that you can experience so much in a short amount of time without feeling like you've missed out!
@parodeejay6 жыл бұрын
It was a little strange... they'd swim around us and between our legs and all, but didn't really brush up on us too much. We enjoyed it though!! :D

Thank you Dee for sacrificing your thumb so I can learn what not to do when visiting the sting rays! Ouch!

Yeeeeeah, apparently she loosened her grip as the stingray was taking the squid... apparently not a great thing to do, but she escaped pretty unscathed. Yow!!

I hope Dee's thumb is okay! If The Lovely Mrs. Magoon and I venture out to see the flat fish, we sure won't be feeding them!

Why are those stingray safe to touch , as we all know Steve Irvin passed away from stingray barb attack , That was one of your best videos, can’t understand why you are so low on subscribers, should be way over 20,000 Personally your one of the best fun cruise ship vlogers around , 😍 will be so beautiful for you to look back on on your wonderful memories, I did most of my world travels before smart phones , gps , digital cloud upload And am hard pushed at times to remember everything and even countries visited , mind you do enjoy that missed all the commercialism and crowds, 😁

They definitely told us over and over again to shuffle our feet in the sand, no walking, no jumping. If you annoy the stingray, it's possible to get hurt, I'm sure. But the guides seemed super knowledgeable and were great at handling the rays when they were bringing them around to us. We've got snorkel footage and even more ray-holding footage in tomorrow's bit!! :D

Dee the stingray did the same thing to me. I had a mark on my thumb for quite a while. Now I don’t feel bad. Ha Ha!! I thought it was just me.

Nah, that suction is powerful when they come around for snack time! She loosened her grip just a little bit, and that was all is took. Lucky they don't have actual teeth, yikes!!

We did this same excursion in Nov, and unfortunately Maurice was quite grumpy that day and would get very frustrated with is when we didn't hold the stingray properly as if we should just know how to do it. It some snapshots I took you can actually see the frustration in his face. I also didnt like the fact that on this tour you dont get the professional pics with the stingrays that other tours offer. This tour only sells underwater cameras for you to buy and develop yourself. Other then that it was great. The water was incredible.
@parodeejay6 жыл бұрын
Oh no, that's no fun! Hopefully you at least had a good time, regardless. We'd read the reviews ahead of time to see that we could use our own camera, which was a plus for us. After being wrangled into a $100 photo package at Balmoral Island in Nassau, we were over all that, ha ha...

Oh yes remember when driving from kalgoorlie Australia to Port Headland were signs every so often saying “ largest Marble bar the world ahead “ well my excitement level was so high nearly wet myself , 😂 Little did I know was reference to a geological formation , not a “ Marble topped air con bar with cold beers “ Well did I feel a fool 😫

@WickedWonder19796 жыл бұрын
How cool! I'd be nervous with that many rays around me. That water looked so beautiful! Did you try that rum cake?
@parodeejay6 жыл бұрын
It was a little strange at first, just being let loose with that many rays, ha ha... but it was awesome! We declined digging into the potentially sketchy pan of rum cake though... I'm sure it was good, being from a reputable shop, but still... :P

Love yalls channel! I came across it in the FB group for our Dec Journeys cruise on Sunshine (pandemic permitting). I have been binge watching 😂. Hope to meet y’all on an adventure one day. Question- Do Mike and Robin have a channel as well? I noticed he films a lot.

That's awesome! Glad to have ya along for our craziness, ha ha. I believe Mike & Robin had intentions of starting up a channel, but I don't think anything has come of it just yet. We've traveled with them a few times now and they're fun folks!! :D

QUESTION : The excursion with Carnival is $78, but i see prices of $40 from other companies. I understand booking from someone else puts us at risk of missing the boat. So my question is - How long is the excursion and would you feel save booking from someone else instead of Carnival?
@parodeejay4 жыл бұрын
If we've got a long day in port, we tend to go with independent vendors. There are a ton of highly-rated vendors that offer tours to Stingray City and such, but it's true that if you don't book through the ship, they won't wait for you if something were to go wrong. We always weigh that in when considering whether to go through the ship or to go independently. :D
