Carnival Parade early 1930s Trinidad

Chung's Studio as displayed on the roadway would have been established in the late 1920's/early 1930's. The owner and his family lived upstairs and you can see them looking down on the parade below. Note the 1934 Bonnie & Clyde era Ford cars. Everyone in this video is no longer with us, their expressions and seemingly their thoughts, concerns aspirations frozen in time. Wonderful historic video. Remember no carnival from 1939 to 1945 due to WWII. Those railway trams were around since the 1890's, even that newer model at the top of the street came in 1905. Also the car fits the era of the 1920s/30s. Vehicle syles changed a lot after WW2.
