I've never had a meal from a specialty restaurant I didn't like. For carnival to change their policy. There must be a lot of people trying to pull a fast one.

The man who complained is probably a bully and has learned if he complains long enough and loud enough he will most likely get his way. Kudos to the dining room staff, the guest services staff and John Heald for standing up to him!

I had paid for a lobster tail once that was over cooked. I ate about half, then my dad tried it and agreed it was way over cooked. So we didn't finish it. The waiter asked if it was ok and I told him the issue. I NEVER asked for a refund or replacement. But they ended up refunding me at their choice. I would normally never say anything. They asked me because I wasn't eating it

Carnival is right. They do everything to make you happy and you request a refund after you ate everything. No wonder why cruises cost more today than a year ago!!

Surprised that was not a rule already. From working in the food industry I have developed my own guidelines for dining at restaurants. 1. If no one has taken our tables drink order within 10 minutes of being seated we walk out. Here is what that says to me the restaurant is seriously understaffed and everything is going to take much longer than normal. 2. If any of the main dishes are unavailable please give our table a heads up. I always have a couple backup options but sometimes for others at the table this can be a lot of pressure. I have stated taking the lead on this and just asking the server, but I know they do not always have the most current information. My 4th meal choice is dining somewhere else. Unless there are extenuating circumstances I have too many doubts about the quality and freshness of ordering the food that is left over. 3. Unless the restaurant has very limited hours I avoid the hour before closing. Generally speaking this is the time when most restaurants are in a cleaning wind down mode and customers may not be the top priority If these sound to harsh they really are not asking much. I don’t write bad reviews, run to the manager, or ask for refunds. I also have concerns about remakes, unless it is something serious like broken glass in the food. At the most I just make an excuse, pay my tab and leave. Sometimes when the situation calls for it I make exceptions to these guidelines which generally reminds me why they work.

I back Carnival on this one. Complain as soon as you get it, not after you finished it. But since you mentioned it, just don't go to the Steakhouse if you are hard to please. ME: 2016: Awesome experience!!! 2023: Post shutdown. I had the Surf and Turf. Lobster tail was the size of a medium shrimp and the filet looked like a burnt golf ball. Any chef would have been ashamed to serve it if he or she were not being forced to. I ate it with no complaint but I will not go again!

Oh heck no. After the first few bites, no refunds, no exchanges! Any reasonable and intelligent person would know if they don't like it or it isn't cooked as requested right away. Just more of that entitlement attitude!!!

I agree with Carnival. Why do we even have to go over something so simple? After the 1st, maybe the 2nd bite, you KNOW the dish isn't right so get your wait staff by then. No. Cool video ending!!

I agree with Carnival if you eat in the Steak House. However.. I'm a big girl. I always lose weight on Carnival. Not impressed with the food. My husband and I went on the Carnival Miracle to Hawaii. We hated the food. It was really bad. Alot of people were talking about the food not being good. I couldn't believe they messed up a Guy's burger 😢😢

really, these people gotta remember there not at McDonalds where you can find a burnt fry and be entitled to a refund. STOP RUINING IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE, go to the buffet or get the pizzas stead… 😡

How are people doing this so regularly that a new policy has to be made. If the food is that bad why not ask for something else on the menu. It’s sad that Carnival has yo even address this.

I’m sorry but after working in the Industry for 40 years, only an idiot would try to do this at a high end steakhouse featuring Prime Meats! You can do this at your local Sizzler, but not a quality facility. Heck, you can’t get away with this at Longhorn or Outback. I used to tell patrons like this that it must have been so bad that you had to eat the whole thing to figure out what was wrong!! Sorry Chuckles, but no refund or comp!!

I love folks that cruise & complain about this and that. If you don’t like it then go back home after the cruise and stay home. I bet this are folks that pay a lot for a cruise and expect the world in their hands. Just stay home with your Jean shorts and dirty flip flops and white t shirts 👍

Corey, we enjoy your videos and just watched the one from 11 months ago about the Freedom and the crazy stuff you saw. I can't help to hope that these are new cruisers. It seems that Carnival and even Royal are catering to newbies who have NO idea about the basics of cruising. It is sad.

It's their own fault. They lure in the dirty sneaker crowd and lowlifes. What do you expect when half the ship are people you wouldn't be seen with in public. In this case, Carnival is doing the right thing.

@@whiskeytango5680 It's a shame that the largest corporation in the industry targets the lowest common denominator. Rather than build a premium brand and reputation the grab for fast dollars is not lifting them up but dragging them down. There are other lines that offer more value for the money without the creeps.
