That suzuki escudo is so good offroad, owned an old first gen and that thing can go literally anywhere the likes of land cruisers go. And this is especially if you get good offroad tires. It has everything in an offroader from low range gearbox to good suspension travel. Shame the new vitara 2019 and 2020 models have become urban cruisers. The 2013 model range will soon become pretty rare so better get one before they do!

Honda was rated to have the most reliable Engines in the world. Shida ya Honda ni suspension here and there especially for rear rigs but we have a lot of Kenyan mechs who can sort that out for you. I own an 1997 RD1 that I have resolved never to sell coz the only thing I'm yet to drive that car without is a wheels.

i owned an escudo for a few years. true it was reliable offroad but i found it low on power. Am a fast driver and it slowed me down...the engine knocked at some point it after i did a long trip but it worked okay after an overhaul

This guy!! Thank you Erick for mentioning the Toyota Avensis Tourer estate 2014. I did not know it existed. Av been looking for a car that resembles a passat estate or vw golf estate, and is reliable engine wise. Sorry for all VW fans out there, me being one of them, the repairs on these cars are too high, "gear box" I think you just pointed me to the right decision. Looks amazing too. Just a quick one it has 3 engine models, Petrol 1.8 and 2 diesels a 2l, and a 2.2 litre diesel. Kindly advice. Asante sana

@@chernobyl6703 i agree,however consider the latest new 2021 1500cc Toyota urban cruiser crossover at 2.5 million with 100,000km of free service by toyota kenya ,then compare it to a 2014 toyota fielder with around 80k in mileage n it costs around 1.5 million and tell me which of the two makes sense economically.

@@davzbalian295 I get your point but IMO I would say it only makes sense on paper for now. In reality if it made sense to most Kenyans who have been/are actually buying cars, the new cars would have put the second hand cars out of business along time ago. I'm certain there's no Kenyan who wouldn't want a zero mileage vehicle inclusive of all those free services but that would cost them a million shillings more (based on the example you've given). Most Kenyans would rather buy that 80k miles car at that 1.5m and do other stuff with that extra million (if they have it). They wouldn't care about latest car models even if you outlined all the advanced features in them. What matters to them is the affordable cost for now, not advanced "luxury" features. The only way to make it all make sense to them is reasonable pricing, and that would only be achieved if the taxes were properly and reasonably lowered. MSRP is well set by manufacturers, it's the taxes that ruin it for new cars here in Kenya.

@@chernobyl6703 my point is regarding the current market,leave alone kitambo...the second hand cars are beinģ pricier while the new car markets are introducing reasonably priced cars. So soon even the difference will be less than 300k. There is a brand new sedan 1.5l that costs 1.3 mil. Proton saga. Just look it up. and these companies are working hard to produce cars that actually fit kenyan roads. It is something in progress ,in short. And it is bound to change in future. And if isuzu continues soon we will be having brand new suvs costing only 2mil which is cheaper than most second hand SUV.
