Carol put her heart in to her show . She started each show connecting, talking to her audience. Then she acted in skits that made you laugh and for the time being , forget your troubles that can nibble away happiness in our day . Carol wouldn’t have that . Then she ended each show by having her guest sign her scrapbook thanking each of them for being a part of her week fir that year . Then she tugged her left earlobe - a gesture signaling her grandmother who adored and raised her because her parents were incapable , which didn’t diminish her love for them . Then she thanked us for having her in our living room . I have many memories of my parents ( now long gone ) my siblings and myself from age of 5-15 in my childhood living room . What I wouldn’t do to go back in time and find all of them there just as we were . Carol played a role for she was a family member we all laughed together with. It was personal . I only hope she knows how much we all love her - like a member of the family . I couldn’t have spent that time any better ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤( a heart for each of us and Carol )

My God mom and my mom were best friends. They would always sing this when they would leave each other. I lost my Godmother a few years ago and this will always be a great reminder of her.

This melody is so memorable that it popped into my head to day, quite randomly. Right away, I knew it was her show's theme song... but I was curious who wrote it. Her husband. WOW! It's a timeless melody that really evokes that era in music.

Because the people you love makes life beautiful. The lyric “ there’s a time for drea, then time to d th this you have to do , but the best is any vening I get to spend with you. My family spent a hour each week with Carol. We’d laugh and then check to see how my mom and dad or my siblings laugh at a joke or a characterization Carol would do. We’d forget about our troubles . Laughing can change the complexion of your day in an instant , then you can start your day all over . Making someone laugh is loving them . Carol has a heart of gold and she gave all of us such a lift. I missed her show , have missed her show since it ended. The lyrics make me miss my parents who are now long gone. I was born in 1962 so I was 5-16 when her show was on. Watching this makes my memory all the more vivid . Oh how I’d love to have my parents with me just one more time.

You see the pain in her eyes not knowing if she’ll sing it again on air. Such a true show stopping performance.

Thanks so much, John! Do you happen to have any clips from the Kennedy Center Honor tributes to Cary Grant aside from the one that's already on KZbin with Audrey Hepburn? Thanks again. Love your account!

So beautiful .., it made me cry. Just that short piece. He’s such an angel, and she’s an American treasure. He loves her for all of us. When I see her, I see the “young” Carol, the darling of CBS. She’s met everyone.
