Carol Burnett said that during rehearsals Tim Conway was spot on. But when the camera lights came on, (they filmed live), all bets were off. They never knew what he’d do! She said Vicky Lawrence was the only one who could keep a straight face. All Tim had to do was look at Harvey & Harvey would lose it. Apparently, the queen was NOT impressed with Carol’s portrayal lol

Carol rarely broke character and often called down Tim and Harvey for doing it too often. The she cracks up towards the end was very rare for her and even when she did she always tried to make it make sense in the dialogue of the show.

Carol cracked because she rarely saw Tim Conway crack. So, when she hit Harvey and turned around all she had to see was Tim's head turning away from her letting her know he was breaking character. After that, she instantly knew she had to pause to stop herself from laughing. It's as if she read Tim's mind and that is what made her lose it. Good comedians like Carol and Tim could easily read each other. This is a really rare moment. Caroll rarely laughed when in charater.

Listening to Vicki scream at 1:22 and Carol scream at 1:33 shows me what kind of singing voice they have. Vicki's screams sound like she has a soprano range and Carol's has a more mezzo range.

As a new fan from England who's only just discovering this show (we never had it over here, I don't think) and a legit actual subject of King Charles III, I loved this!
