Carol Channing, Broadway legend, dead at 97

Actress and Broadway legend Carol Channing died in California Tuesday. Channing, who will forever be remembered for "Hello Dolly," was 97. Jim Axelrod takes a look back at her life.

I will never forget the first time I saw you in Hello Dolly. It was beyond amazing..and being an actor in the theatre myself...I have performed in productions of ...Dolly many times. Byron Chandler YES YES YES!! That was my intro to her as a kid but didn’t know it at the time! Years later when I got into musical theatre, is when you can’t escape the mention of Carol and then I read her bio of all her roles and screamed when I found out she was Mrs. Fieldmouse because that song is in my family lexicon 😂😂
