Thank you for playing the song, Don, and for all your observations about it. Snuff Garrett produced the song in Los Angeles, and he also produced Cher, Eddie Rabbitt, Brenda Lee, David Frizzell and Shelly West, and Tanya Tucker around the same time. Carol Chase has been around since the 1970s, and she's a great songwriter, too. She recorded for Casablanca and MCA in the '80s, sang and traveled with Lynyrd Skynyrd for probably 20 years (or more), and now she distributes her own music, which is mostly Southern Rock in nature. She's also a beautiful lady, and a very nice person, too. Thank you again for playing it, and I hope your viewers will like it. Best wishes, John O'Dowd

Thanks John for your request. The song was written by Cy Coban and released by Carol in 1979 on her album 'Sexy Songs'. It was produced by Norbert Putnam and recorded at Quadraponics studio in Nashville. Norbert Putnam has produced for other artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Dan Fogelberg, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Donovan, John Hiatt, Eric Anderson and Buffy St. Marie, earning more than 24 gold and platinum albums, as well as three Dove and three Grammy nominations. This song was originally recorded in 1967 by Connie Smith Thanks Don for the reaction

Thank you, Jcat. I know Norbert Putnam produced Carol's second album for Casablanca, but I thought Snuff Garrett produced her Sexy Songs album. I appreciate you sharing the correct info. On her second album, Carol also recorded a cover of The Everly Brothers song, So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad), which IMO, is also excellent. I think Norbert Putnam produced her beautifully. All the best, John

I saw this song title and I immediately thought of Skip Ewing "Burning' A Hole In My Heart". Also Kelly Willis "Hole In My Heart". Except this is "Mind" not Heart. What a photo on that album cover. Good song, that's genuine Country. Her name didn't ring a bell. Very distinctive voice. Nice request. An artist I will have to delve into.
