Thanks for your reaction! Yes, you were actually quite accurate in your comment about Geoff's choir teacher in high school and it did happen that way (Geoff did not want to participate in choir when he started high school and wanted to be in the band instead but Layne, Voice Play's beatboxer and his best friend since Jr High, really pushed him to join). His choir director introduced his high school choir to his college choir that he directed which included the choir teacher's daughter. Geoff was picked out and included in projects outside of his high school choir and included singing with a Christmas caroling group that included the choir director's daughter. Many years later, Geoff married his choir director's daughter, Kathy, so his high school choir director is now his father-in-law. His wife, Kathy, is the production manager for both solo Geoff and Voice Play and is so amazingly talented in all she does for them. By the way, Geoff does like rock metal music so singing any cover would very interesting.

Geoff is a multi-talented beast. This is not the carol he wanted to do, but his wife put the kibosh on that one. To my knowledge he has not revealed what might have been, but this? This is truly astounding!

Being more of a grumpy mean old Mr.Grinch than a cheery jolly fellow, i feel similar to you in regards to traditional xmas carols and having worked in retail with hearing those nonstop for weeks hasn't helped either. But THIS l can relate to! It feels like a GOTH version of the carol, eerily haunting and sinister, yet drop dead gorgeous at the same time. Geoffs earth shaking bass out of Hels basement gives the melody an imho much needed foundation and his arrangement is like a gut punch, making this most repetetive of all carols musically interesting. And l love the production itself, with the blue/yellow color scheme in lighting & clothes paying tribute to the ukrainian origin of this carol and the broken bells in the cover art reminding me of this nations situation. This is the xmas carol of a nation at war, defending itself against a superior foe invading them! So yeah, here we are, and l have found my first caveat, the first rendition of a xmas carol that l REALLY like! Thank you for the reaction, your face often mirrored mine when l heard this the first time. Happy Holidays

His voice has been described as honey poured over thunder.....I think this version doesn't have sweet silver bells but big iron cathedral bells!

Thanks for another reaction to Geoff's solo work. Geoff and Kathy had a busy holiday week last month as they filmed this the day before Thanksgiving. He edited the video then shared it with his patrons three days later. The man has many talents.

This is one epic arrangement and execution of this classic Christmas carol! 🎄⚘️🕊 PS: funny story - Geoff says all the boys wanted to be bass so they had a shortage of tenors so he sang tenor as well!!!

This song is simply EPIC ❤ Someone in another comment section compared it to a dragon choir singing Christmas carols 😂 And I think that's a very accurate description 🐲👍🏻 Love his arrangements 🫶🏻 I'm not much into all the Christmas stuff and songs, but this one... good lord... I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (literally 😂) on Friday 👍🏻

Geoff has given us another fabulous song. Since you enjoy 'non-cheesy' Christmas music, you should check out Dan Vasc's Angels We Have Heard on High! Absolutely epic! Also, Geoff's God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen!

I’m with you about Christmas carols. Cheesy and saccharine, mostly. Bah humbug. LOL. Geoff has done a couple now that I actually do enjoy hearing, including this interesting and different take on this song. (Note: it doesn’t help that in the small town I grew up in, we lived right next to the fire station, and starting the day after Thanksgiving and going until Christmas Day was over, they played carols over the loudspeaker that could be heard all over town. I’m guessing a lot of people found it charming, but OMG, I couldn’t escape them. I think they actually torture people by playing loud music for hours and hours. I came away HATING most of those songs. I’m just now finally getting past it a little.) Oh, by the way, if you want to hear bass singers go metal, The Bass Gang just dropped Valhalla Calling, featuring BigBrev. All of them sing bass, and the song is CRAZY good.

Just take the most repetitive song in the world and hand it to Geoff. Let him do his witchcraft and in the end you have the most beautiful song in the universe ❤️🔥
