Hey, finally I get to see the actual skit Harvey did, to the blooper first I saw for this bit - and very funny indeed. I also picked up on Carol calling him "Mr Happy Go Lucky" - related to the story when Harvey threw a particularly nasty tantrum on a guest and Carol told him to change his attitude or she'd let him go. He changed his behaviour pretty quickly and Carol had a plac made up and hung over his dressing room door that said "Mr. Happy Go Lucky"

My mother in law passed away from breast and lung cancer on January 9th of this year, had it for 6 months, it happened so fast, went to her bones, brain, spine, intestines. She loved this show and watched it all the time. She was only in her late 50s 😭💔 miss her so much. She was a mother in law, grandma, mother, and friend. Gone way too soon. Cancer SUCKS. Hug your family and tell how much you love them. Id give anything to be able to sit with her in her kitchen and visit one more time.

Carol was so remarkably hilarious (arguably the greatest physical comedienne since Lucille Ball), it's easy to forget what an awesome singer she was as well.

Lucille Ball was her mentor. She appeared on Ms. Ball's " Here's Lucy" in addition another irony...Lucille Ball passed on 04/26/1989...which was on Carol Burnett's birthday.

Harvey’s parlor banter and singing says hes 40, yet he could kinda pass for 60. He was brilliant. Styles have changed but the songs message is still the same. Vickis song is pure camp. Her singing, with a southern accent, is hilarious.
@RepentfollowJesus2 жыл бұрын
It was a huge radio hit. I believe it was made into a movie in the late 70s. It isnt meant to be funny. Southern mystery songs were a thing back then. Check out the episode with Bobbie Gentry singing Ode To Billy Joe. It was a huge hit as well and they made a very successful movie based on it which starred Robbie Benson . It was a real shocker.

Check out her "Naughty Rosemarie" parody of turn-of-the-century operettas in Episode 4.22. Not only did she make a great torch singer as we see here, but she could also pull off an ingenue soprano when the situation called for it.
