Poor soul. There's an on-line petition circulating, requesting that Carole be honored with a postumous Medal of Freedom, for her tireless work entertaining the troops during WWII. If anyone deserves it, she does. She clocked more hours and miles overseas than any other performer, even more than Bob Hope.
