Does the run really stay dry with that roof? With even a mild wind, which usually accompanies any rain, everything in that run is going to be soaked. I'm sure rain blows through the windows, too. The roof doesn't extend out far enough to be very valuable, but you can't extend it because then the door wouldn't open. Can you usually leave your house windows open when it's raining hard? And the roof on your house extends a lot further out than that.

It's been our experience and that of our customers that if there is a really hard sideways rain, (which isn't an often occurrence) the chickens usually go under the henhouse, which is another great aspect to our designs, or even in the henhouse. But they do stay dry, does the edges of the run get wet in that kind of weather, sure, but our runs are much bigger than the average chicken coops and the birds are not getting wet or rained on inside our runs. And yes, some customers use our polycarbonate run covers, which are mostly used to block strong, cold winds, and also hard, cold rain and snow. Hope that helps explain it all.

Why the bottom door I don’t understand. It wouldn’t be easier just to put two doors in or even one on the back of the coop or even one that hinges from the bottom maybe

The bottom door is so you can clean out the hen house with our deep litter system. If it was one door, when you open the door, the hemp bedding would fall out. We also like two large doors in the back to increase ventilation for our customers with warmer clients.
