So I marched this show (aged out in 2022), and I remember we worked on the ballad runs after the major hit for 2 HOURS during an off season camp. 4 measures. But god it paid off.

I was in atlanta that year, I stopped in Marietta to hear them rehearse and I can tell you that somehow the ballad hit was even louder in the stadium than at the high school field, and I had been ready for the opening hit since the preview show but nothing could have prepared me for in person lol

Crown's show was a pleasant surprise for me this year. I knew it was supposed to be controversial because of the incorporation of tech (which you guys never mentioned), but to me, unlike the BC show, the gimmick could have been taken away and it still stood nicely. The Crown show was much simpler than BD's, but man, their intonation was remarkable. (And this is coming from a former Berklee scholarship student. 😉)

This show absolutely should’ve beaten SCV. Also, this is the best Battery Crown has ever had imo. I also never noticed that the Flugel soloist in 2019 is the same soloist from their 2022 show
