My favorite set up i am currently using for albacore and bonito is Penn's Regiment Rod either 6'6" or 7' extra fast tip with Penn's 3500 Spinfisher V reel. I've got them loaded with Spiderwire's 15lb Ultracast Invisibraid. It's a great set-up!

Thanks for posting! Enjoy your shows! What source would you guys recommend keeping an eye on to know when the bonito start showing up? It's a longer run to the water for me so I need to be able to plan a bit further ahead. Thanks!

Both are excellent boats. I have run Ranger's 2200, 2400, 2310, 2410 as well as the smaller boats. I currently run the Ranger 2310 Bay w/ 300 Yamaha. It's a rock solid rig! Unlike most boats on the market, Ranger's bay boats remain solid and show no signs of fatigue or wear. They are truly build different than other boats on the market. of 14 Ranger Bay boats Mike and I have owned, we've never had a single issue, and never even seen a spider crack in gel coat... even running these boats over 75 days a year in the ocean with seas usually 3 to 4ft. capt. jeff
