I admit I thought Jayden was being his typical humble self when he gave so much credit to Marcus M. This game proved how much they play alike and that Jayden wasn't just being respectful! Mariota had an MVP performance I believe against the 49ers and he would have had a chance to beat Tom Brady if the Refs didn't end the game on a bogus roughing the passer. He was much better in those games because it was actually competitive and not a blowout against the trashy panthers. He's on a very good team now. Not to diminish what he and Jayden are doing, but this 40 burger shows more than anything else how locked in the entire offense is and just how good Kliff and the rest of the coaching staff are. Ertz, Terry and Kliff made sure MM could settle in by slowing the offense down for him and doing a lot of extra running until he got his legs under him. That TD to Ertz was 90% on him being aware in the end zone and changing his route to help the QB, 10% on Mariota being accurate.

His incompletions were mostly before he had a rhythm since he didn't have practice with the 1st string receivers in a real game. He straight balled out after they got on the same page. We don't have to change the play book for him. Either since he can run the same plays as Jayden. If Jayden goes down in a play off game, he's one of the only back ups that can give you win in the 2nd half.
