Nice work! I attempted to mount a Mallard, did pretty good on the skinning, but quickly realized I was in over my head. It’s worth the money to pay a professional.

But what is the dry preservative, also what is injected into the feet?

The dry preservative is typically made from talcum powder, borax, and sometimes alum. Borax alone from the grocery store works just fine. The feet were injected with masters blend which is a 2 part resin that gets hard when it cures and keeps the feet from shrinking when they dry.

@@joshdd123 ah thank you :) though, i live in the Uk and cant get borax.. really want to get into bird taxidermy as i already preserve insects and clean bones, could you give any advice on that? Thanks :)

@@koi1913 I think I've heard of people using corn starch on birds. I'd don't imagine it would have the same bug control properties as borax, but it might dry out a skin ok.
