Coming to a Crossroads in life is an archetypal experience. It represents a position of choice in which the familiar intersects with the new, the known with the unknown, and illusion with truth. Life positions us at numerous Crossroads, and though the reasons vary, they have in common the opportunity to retrieve fragments of ourselves in order to become a more whole individual. How do we recognize when we are standing at a powerful Crossroads? Are some Crossroads in life more powerful than others? And how do we recognize a fragment of ourselves? What choices can we make that help us to become whole? It would seem that what makes a Crossroads significant is an obvious external transition in life, but that is an illusion. Many of the most profound Crossroads we will stand upon are within ourselves. The truth is power is not determined by actions taken outside of ourselves but by the capacity we have to perceive what is ending in our life and what is being offered as a new beginning, though so often presented to us as the path least familiar.

This video feels like a moment of grace for me. The darkness crawls in when we want to elevate our lives. Out of desperation and need for success we give into those temptations.. lies, cheats, bills to pay mouths to feed nothing in this world for free, shiny object syndrome ect. Aiming to do better in the world and then we end up discovering we don’t actually have those resources yet… it’s hard! But it’s beautiful to see how and when we failed the test, how we stepped out of integrity because we believed we couldn’t get out of the mud otherwise. Sometimes grace comes when we sit in our mess long enough to recognise the truth of our shadow.

I used to RUN everywhere, people would mention it to me. I had someone tell me to slow down when driving because my brain is linked to my foot! This has changed, it has taken years to slow my monkey mind and heal the things I was avoiding feeling. I come from a family of Irish psychics and I am proud of it. 41:33, we are all born with a toolbox, as we go along in life we fill it up. Some people go through life like the booted tomcat in the fairy tale, And some take all those thousands of little steps. Both will come to the crossroad or borderline which we all have to cross. Only the one with a well-filled toolbox is managing to cross the borderline and make the right decisions at the crossroad. The more I listen to you, the more I can see that your toolbox is very, very well filled. When you enter a new relationship with all yr unhealed trauma and unresolved problems, it does NOT mean that this relationship will be damaged as well. Because it can be a blessing, from God to you, to heal FINALLY this trauma and to solve those problems. Plus, when you say that one choice will help us and the other will destroy... Well, not necessarily. It does not need to destroy us. But can just give us a lesson. A tough lesson.

This is maybe minor compared to other microaggressions against the Black community, but this kind of thing contributes. As I said, this is from 2013. I imagine Caroline in 2021 would not tell this story. White people are learning, at least some of us are.

She was surprised at this woman’s abilities, despite her uneducated and unprivileged background, working a job a ‘graduate student’ like the speaker disdained, is ‘superstitious’ and ‘religious’ (ie smallminded when what she is describing sounds like a very broad spiritual belief) and the real point of the story should have been the speaker’s lie that she gaslit her coworker and lied in front of their mutual boss. This in a story about the acolyte not understanding how self referential he was. There’s layer on layer of racial and class micro aggressions in this story without even a redeeming admission. The final layer of gaslight is using ‘the little people’ to insult her Irish audience into compliance with her argument using a slapstick story about a Black woman who also believed in them.

@@diannerenn3462 I cannot speak on behalf of Caroline Myss. However, when people are normally telling an anecdote, at least, I tend to recreate the whole story, voices, accents, and all... It's just to visualize what happened in a story telling way. If she was telling the same story in an Irish accent, is that mean she is being discriminatory or racially profiling Irish people, or whatever accent she was using? I think the story of the guru, Sathya Sai Baba, was exactly that, telling us that we tend to judge others or situations based on an illusion, from our own pain.

I sensed something off about Carolyn in this talk. Mocking Evelyn and insulting her audience... I think she was confessing her sins because the darkness did get into her and she tried to spit it out. She revealed her own lack of integrity, seeing whether she would be forgiven. We do this sometimes and do not even realize it.
