Hi, everybody.
It's time for another archetype video. Today, I will do the rebel because it's one of those archetypes that is so prevalent.
I did an audio series on the Sacred Contract of America years ago. (amzn.to/42X8Ylf) And I looked at what I thought were the 12 dominant archetypal patterns of the United States. And, of course, the rebel is one of them because the whole country started from the American Revolution.
What triggers the rebel is freedom, the need to experience the freedom that doesn't exist. The rebel is moving from a state of restriction to something more liberating.
Every archetype is just a neutral pattern; it has this wide range in which our psychic field operates. But it's up to us to utilize that in our personal choices. So archetypes are impersonal. And, at the same time, deeply intimate. They're intimate within our life.
I will end by saying this is a rebellious time. We are in a rebellious climate and just had a rebellion staged in Ukraine, Russia. It didn't last long. But that was the beginning of a major uprising, and things are shaking. And once the rebellion starts, it's rarely stopped. So who knows?
Okay, everybody. Thank you. I hope you enjoy this.
Love,
Caroline

My rebel got me out from a family system that was restricted and unhealthy. I know how powerful it can be and in the shadow, how much havoc it can create also. A very important archetype for our time indeed. Thank you for your wisdom. 🌹🙏❣️

Mother Teresa was also a rebel in her own way - she defied the limited thinking of the Catholic Church as well as Hindu traditions and was willing to fight for people who might otherwise be ignored. She even dared to question her own faith and beliefs in God and stood her ground when challenged.

I learned a million moons ago, it seems, that after my teenaged rebellion against the fake happy family, I channeled my Rebel into activism. Whether for a race, a religion, a region, animals, women, children, LGBTQIA, quality medical care, the planet we live on... There are many wonderful ways to channel that rebellion within.

Great full for this series! It has been and continues to be affirming, interesting, thoughtfully delivered. I absolutely concur with Caroline’s thoughts on the Rebel! Having always considered myself a non conformist this archetype sparks within me. These past few years has found me taking a stand for my ideological, political beliefs, taking a stand that has been difficult to say the least. When you feel these beliefs to your core, solidarity is the way of the rebel. I thank Caroline for being the teacher, the leader, and the rebel 🌟🫶

Teenagers have plenty cause for rebellion, though they may not yet have the awareness of why they unconsciously do so - The school system is designed to churn out subservient little worker bees; they're brainwashed; stripped or limited in their creative pursuits & conditioned into any numerous versions of submission. They lose parts of themselves, lose touch with their divinity, that loss & that rage that is produced from that loss is plenty reason for rebellion than anything else. And that's just what occurs at school - not even getting into their home life. Sincerely, my 33-year old inner teen still trying to remember her truth

You know… I don’t think it’s so much that people don’t like being told what to do is that it’s the way everyone goes about it. The snappy, condescending tone, or the self righteousness that’s involved … if people would get in their heart space and come from a place of love, take time out of their day to day lives and actually connect with someone on a human level and then offer their advice, then ‘tell someone what to do’…well I honestly think we would all be way more open to hearing what others have to say. I enjoy your archetype videos so much!! Thank you ❤️

Love your work. IMO everyone has a little of the rebel in them and it's healthy because it grows from anger. Anger is the feeling that your boundaries have been crossed and is a need to stand up for your own truth. Anger like rebellion can be like fire and get out of control, but it is a force that has the power to change a stagnant situation.

I was listening to two dissident comedians having a heart-to-heart. One thanked the other for helping keep him sane during the last few years. That's the way a lot of us feel about dissidents with whom we've come in contact. You need people who tell you that you're not alone in what you're picking up on, can take it further along by explaining the historical context and narrative control, and connect the dots.

Listening to this as have woken early, a promising progress from sleepless nights. Something in the rebel archetype responds deeply in me. Not loudly but resolutely. Just yesterday in conversation saying how we are not gifted a certificate at birth which entitles us to anything, least of all a declaration about a fair, easy, deserving life. But that perhaps the single only thing which we are inherently “ imbued” with and which is dictated and determined, confounded me in its language for so long, is the right to freedom. Since the Dawn of “mankind” , the restrictions and censures dictated culturally, socially, in every manner conceivable existing on this level of reality has guarded and feared anything and anyone that does not conform to the acceptable knowable. That which cannot be understood, is taught to be feared. In anyone who looks outside the constructions and policing of human individuality, the complex beings we all are, that we do not need labels and boxes which blind, there exists the seed, waiting to germinate that cannot abide any separateness in our experience. My only wish and prayer is that every person have the right to their experience, a personal truth at the very least, seen and accepted as we are, without our choices and actions causing more fear and disconnection in which we are drowning, most unaware that this is not a natural state but an imposed one. Where, out of fear and scarcity that in the existence of another, there is less for a “ me” , is illusion. Yet it’s a generally accepted way of policing and politicizing every aspect of our experience. I speak only for myself, but most everything “ written by man” is not TRUE, merely sanctioned. The only pure truth is the perfect laws of the perfect universe we inhabit, impervious to personal agendas. I after half a century of attempting to contort myself and how my life should look have realized the soul destroying nature of this endeavor. Where the needs of some obliterate the humanity of others and remove their ability to access equally not only basic human needs but an understanding of a greater higher good that is possible and in the highest good of everything, that seed is now ready to germinate, traverse the unknown as the known becomes untenable and stop wishing for a return to “ normalcy “ but a rupture, an end to fixing what should stay broken, a right resistance and rebellion against the arrogance of believing the righteousness of our entitlements. Our souls are all made of the same stuff, there is no you and me. There is a “ we”. And though my conviction may seem to some a strange magic and a largely solitary life, I know it takes the only changes we can truly affect, those within ourselves, which inspire others, for a few to shift the consciousness of many. A rebel, and architect of change, if even only it begins as you always say, in our own thoughts and choices. Thank you, as a decades long reader and follower of your work and incredible contribution in this world!

I was reluctant to put it into a comment because it's part of another 'language system' to talk about personality, but I kept hearing 'Aquarius'. I believe that anyone who has a lot of Aquarius in their natal chart, they have the rebel woven into the fabric of their being. They just can't help it, Aquarius will always rebel, be it with or without a cause. Yet I fully agree, if you can't do anything else but rebel, than better find a specific something you're passionate about to change its (written and unwritten) rules. Otherwise it might turn into pointless anger and frustration shooting around into nowhere. This video surprised me, more than I was expecting. I'm always looking forward to what's coming next, thank you so much for keeping up with this project!🙏🤓💝

my 'rebel' style is very much in synch with Carolines convictions, her response to Citizens United on the social media helped me with the clarity of understanding how this nations principles have been compromised and got us to become complacent to unhealthy forms of social manipulation . With the help of Intuition and archetypes we shall get better clarity of our situation. Keep up the communication !

I was a rebel against my school: halfway through our program the program implemented a time that would make almost half of my cohort miss graduation. This rule was implemented after the semester began and we were locked into existing placements so we had no opportunity to adhere to the new rule. My friend and I organized a large group of students effected by this in a secret meeting then we pushed back in legal form. We had to go through the different levels all the way up to the dean. Soon the cohort after us also heard about what we were doing and wanted to do the same thing. The program eventually opened a class that would allow us to bypass the rule albeit not all students could attend the class due to scheduling conflicts. The program then said we had to get 10 people to keep the class… we eventually ended up with 20. I was most appalled and disheartened that a state school can take tuition and bend the rules at their own discretion and no one would notice.

Your criticism of "rebel without a cause" seems inconsistent with your later talking about the "chaos force" that is part of life--even the Cosmos (e.g., Kali energy). In other words, you probably need an update on your thinking somewhat. Chaos is arguably, "a cause" and all rebel activity is part of that goodness--and, you tend to think in black n' white around this. We need to be compassionate with all rebel energies, and you seem rather to want to romanticize (aka moralize) the good and destroy the bad (e.g., you say, put them in prison for life, as such a judgement of little nuance or developmental empathy for their struggle too to find their evolutionary purpose of helping society, even if it does backfire--that failure is part of the Rebel's work in this world).

I have a rather annoying Rebel. She often tries to rebel before she even knows or understands what she's rebelling against. I sometimes have to keep her in check until I get more information. Particularly when it comes to folks with mental health issues and addictions. It took me 60 years to learn that jumping in to save someone from a self-inflicted injuryoften does more harm than good. My Rebel seems to want to prove that she can love the unlovable into wellness. No matter who offers up the warning, Rebel is ready to prove them wrong.

@r.michaelfisher7930
@r.michaelfisher7930 Жыл бұрын
I appreciate any good critical thinking on The Rebel. Archetypal theory (e.g., Jung to Myss) is one perspective but there are others we also ought to check out. I think philosopher Sam Keen offers one of the best developmental spectrum theories out there for humans (universal). You can find his theory (includes Rebel - Stage 2) in The Passionate Life: Stages of Loving (1983). I also have theorized on the Rebel, with making distinctions like "Twisted Rebel", "Normal Rebel" and "Essential Rebel" (e.g., MLK Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi) which are ideas that nuance the dynamic that goes on. Let's keep thinking wisely on this topic! Also note: Myss does not deal with the so-called rebel spirit in the two-year old (for e.g., so-called Terrible Twos that adults call this). Adultism is really revealed (with fearism ungirding) when the two-year old is suppressed and violated (i.e., terrified by adult authority), which yes, such rebel spirit (now wounds) erupts again in teen years especially. But this 'battle' is only just begun in those early stages of development. The 'shadow' side of the Rebel is a fear-based (wounded-based, trauma-based) rebellion that can become very undermining and toxic, which Myss is referring to as well. Healing the Rebel is a whole other talk that needs to be engaged.

Respectfully disagree about value of rebel employee. I rebelled at 7-7 shifts pointing out the number of admissions/discharges being so heavy on day shift causing overtime. I proposed 11A-2300 as solution...my real goal was to have childcare, get most differential, not have to get up earlier. Boss did see better work flow, less overtime. I rebelled uneducated coworkers and fussed loudly about a program I wanted to be mandatory,it also spread to another hospital because people made fun of me then actually looked at it. The trick is that managers have to know if they are working with a horse or donkey... donkey will not be lead into danger so must be respected. Teach kids to identify exactly what is irritating them, research every side, offer 3 solutions no matter how nuts they may be, evaluate it if is worth the effort, if it is pick the best solution and compare it to research... then stand up,yell if needed, don't back down.

Where is YOUR understanding that babies are entitled to life just as you are! And that they don’t have the voice YOU do ? Power is not limited to personal choice. Power is also in the acceptance of nature. Babies in the womb are just as entitled to survival and life as you are! You were a baby in the womb! What if your voice was silenced because of a choice your mother made? I was an aborted child who survived. I am no less important than you are!

Yes I agree. It seems wanting to kill up until birth is what caused the overwhelming rebellion to put an end to the painful tearing apart of a babies body in the womb..she can have her own body torn apart if she so chooses. Abortion has become a form of birth control. It was started by a racist with clinics placed near black communities.
