experiencing this all in reverse...! it brings in the perception of linear time to forefront and smashes it in a way that feels so similar/familiar and just as disorienting as remembering the events of an evening you're feeling tortured over. you first experience the events in chronological order, but in the act of remembering, when you are left feeling a certain way (in this case, maybe dejection) you have to work your way back in a way that does not mirror how you felt when you're going through it for the first time. you almost have to piece it back together yourself. as the viewer of this video, receiving the information backwards has so many implications... we receive all the information for the first time at the end, we know where it's going and we have to piece together how we got there while still holding the context of where we were. it is still important to look at the order of (for example) who leaves who at different points in the video, and then have to reverse it and reverse it again to get at the full depth of the dynamic between the two people..... not to mention the first break in the format at ~2:47, when the viewer is not even sure if the moment is still in reverse, it gets at those experiences that feel out of time in a way that i have never seen before. there is so much more here, of course the camera work and the visual distortions, the visual transitions with the musical transitions, tracking the hand movements and eye movements of the two people throughout... what are we left with? we, the viewer, we, who have had our hearts smashed... im going to sit with this one for a second. caroline..... their mind. wow anyways

Watch again and keep the line "I wish I could collect all the subtle rejections" in your mind. Everything is geared toward it, they never kiss, the brunette constantly hesitates or pulls away at every turn, even in the very beginning. It's like these types of relationships; you're so enamoured at the time that you miss it. Only hindsight is 20-20.

I feel really lucky and thankful that C.R randomly showed up in a Spotify playlist a year ago. Since then I've been playing catch up and listening to so many songs on repeat. When Instagram dropped the teaser last night I couldn't wait to hear Miami this morning. I've heard the song many times over today, but just saw the video for the first time. The lyrics remind me of my mom who's currently fighting cancer for the fifth time and the video reminds me of my ex, we were together for 6 years and we were friends since 2008. We broke up on the 2021s winter when my mother was fighting cancer for the fourth time. She cheated on me. Things change, people change, we gotta be strong even thought we don't want to.
