Just wondering, was Starbucks your first job? Cause I’m wondering the likelihood of them hiring someone with little to no experience!
@RaleighBecketGipsyPilot4 жыл бұрын
@@hazymoonlight9407 I know every starbucks I walk into seems to be training a new barista, even the busy stores. If you think about it, no one can get experience unless they get trained and work. Otherwise no one would be working there.

Honestly the questions are easy & you can take as much time as you need answering, they’re really just all about passion & u being a good team member. do you find it hard dealing with rude customers since you are the point of contact as the shift? i was just asked to be a shift and this is my biggest concern and i’m freaking out about it. im so shy and i don’t know how i’d be able to manage that.
@carolineanne4 жыл бұрын
No, you get used to it & I feel like it doesn’t happen as often as you get super sweet customers so it balances out. My tips are to just stay very calm and apologize immediately, (even if they’re wrong) so they feel validated (because let’s be real, these rude customers have other issues in their life, so if you give them any reason to freak out more they most definitely will!) so speak very calmly, clearly, and slowly to the rude customer. If they’re complaining about drinks/food, find out exactly what went wrong with the food/drink & tell them it’s immediately being remade (because “the customer is always right..” right?) and direct your baristas to remake the food/drink or take initiative yourself to remake the item(s). Only other thing I encountered was rude customers when we wouldn’t accept returns for merchandise with no receipt and I’d simply tell them calmly I’m incredibly sorry it’s unacceptable to accept the return due to starbucks policy & I don’t have any control over these policies. If they flip and say they’re going to call corporate or something ridiculous, give them a card that has the customer service number on it (most stores have these up by the registers). I wouldn’t worry too much because 99% of the time you and your fellow baristas did nothing wrong or just made an honest mistake. Also remember to never take the things they said personally just remember these people are just looking for a fight & if you remain chill and don’t give them that power it will de-escalate quickly! Also it’s probably better if you’re shy because then the rude customer is probably going to realize their b*tching out a sweet innocent girl and then feel like an a** lol. I’d advise you to take the promotion. Being a shift leader is easier than being a barista once you get the hang of it, in my option, and it comes with the pay raise & more stocks, don’t let crappy people deter you from improving your current situation!

Do you have a degree in anything? Like do you need to be experienced in order to work? Also what's the maximum and minimum age
@laurenm908_4 жыл бұрын
You really don’t need experience for Starbucks, the minimum age is 16 and maximum is as long as you can healthily work lol.

Ashley Hurtado I’ve been training for 3 weeks, I can’t say about long term but so far it’s been super fun(: There’s a lot to remember, and it’s really intimidating at first, but you’ll most likely have good trainers and with an open mind you’ll definitely be able to go at the pace you should. I’ve started digital training, I’m not done with it yet though. I’ve been trained on the register and hot bar, I can make a few hot drinks on my own so far, but I’m still super slow and learning as well ! I suggest you look on quizlet, there’s a bunch of starbucks flash cards, you can start studying drink recipes and shot/syrup numbers ahead of time, good luck! ((:

Hi omg loved this video!! I definitely would love to apply but I’m nervous about learning how to make all of the drinks. So how was the training process? Was learning everything pretty easy?

I’m a shift supervisor in my area at sbux. Almost all the drinks have the same build but with different flavors/syrups/scoops. Everyone learns different and at their own pace. I’ve been with sbux since 2017 and I still learn new things every other week or so. Also all the barista trainers do an amazing job teaching you 🤩
