Lyrics
Back in the city
I'm just another girl in a sweater
Perpetual novice
Signature on a check made out to you
Took ten laps ‘round the planet
To prove what I wasn't
And the door slams hard behind you
When you leave the house of judgement
Been waiting for regret to hit me
Some kind of reckoning
I waited for the drop cause lately
The yang comes with yin
Back in the city
I'm just another girl in a sweater
Perpetual novice
Signature on a check made out to you
Now there’s the sunset
Salt in the wound, yeah
Sometimes I don't know who I'm singing to
Who is the you who I sing to
When the house is empty?
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you
And we're waking up sore and dizzy
From a ten year concussion
And the rainfall makes you miss me
Even though you say it doesn't
Back in the city
I'm just another girl in a sweater
Back in the city
Everything's different
When we're not together
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you
Running running running running
Running running running running
Back in the city
I'm just another girl in a sweater
Perpetual novice
Signature on a check made out to you
Now there’s the sunset
Salt in the wound, yeah
Sometimes I don't know who I'm singing to
Who is the you who I sing to
When the house is empty
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you
You open the door
To another door to another door
To another door to another door
And I'm running through to you

@sebastianponzo89 Жыл бұрын
@@nc-qt5co Caroline is looking at her phone, swiping on patterns until she finds one she becomes transfixed upon. She stares into her phone and is taken on a journey where this towel changes perspective. Towel like this are usually used in art class for drawing perspective art pieces and testing the student's shading and depth accuracy. The pattern on her phone changes into a neat shirt tie sort of, a symbol synonymous with male conformity. 10 year concussion, unrequited love in a relationship, things falling into place because of manifesting reality. She takes the yang with the yin and gives herself fully over to this "pattern-guy", running towards him innately or intuitively, because everything is different otherwise. I really resonated with this idea, people usually don't like to be objectified. But us, as animals, are innately egotistical reactive creatures. If we saw people as what we value them as, instead of humans, nothing would really change. Idealized "what if" scenarios would still run through our minds of "the good life", "the perfect thing to say", or "how I want to love this person instead of how they wanted to be loved". It's good to run away with your ambition or daydream, but it's also good to stay grounded in reality. Like being jealous of your ex for all the things they're doing for people or all the money they have vs. wanting to get back together with them. Both of those thoughts aren't mutually exclusive.

[Intro] Back in the city I'm just another girl in a sweater Perpetual novice Signature on a check made out to you [Verse 1] Took ten laps 'round the planet To prove what I wasn't And the door slams hard behind you When you leave the house of judgment [Verse 2] Been waiting for regret to hit me Some kind of reckoning I waited for the drop, 'cause lately The yang comes with yin [Pre-Chorus] Back in the city I'm just another girl in a sweater Perpetual novice Signature on a check made out to you Now there's the sunset Salt in the wound, yeah Sometimes I don't know who I'm singing to Who is the you who I sing to When the house is empty? [Chorus] You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you [Verse 3] And we're waking up sore and dizzy From a ten year concussion And the rainfall makes you miss me Even though you say it doesn't [Pre-Chorus] Back in the city I'm just another girl in a sweater Back in the city Everything's different When we're not together [Chorus] You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you [Bridge] Running, running, running, running Running, running, running, running [Pre-Chorus] Back in the city I'm just another girl in a sweater Perpetual novice Signature on a check made out to you Now there's the sunset Salt in the wound, yeah Sometimes I don't know who I'm singing to Who is the you who I sing to When the house is empty? [Chorus] You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you You open the door To another door, to another door To another door, to another door And I'm running through to you [Outro] Running, running, running, running Running, running, running, running Running, running, running, running Running, running, running, running Ooh, oh-oh, ooh, ooh-oh

Go look up some Imogen Heap. This is just recycled pop music for a new generation that didn’t grow up on music like Imogen, Bjork. Honestly kind smart if you think about it. Good way to make money on the ignorance of the younger generation. That kinda sounds messed up when I re read what I said but it’s facts. Edit: typo

You just made my day Sean. The brindle greyhound named Dominic is mine and the red and white one named Barney belonged to a good friend who died six month ago. (Cancer sucks for both humans and greyhounds!) I love the idea of dogs and humans running through doors that never close to be together again. The way Caroline sings “running running run-ing” at the end feels eternal as does so much of the video.
