I just bought one of your Silicone Painting Starter kits. Even with the extra 45 pounds on shipping it is still a very good value. Plus I think having the same products I see you use will help me be more confident as I have watched your painting videos countless times. I am terrified to start and overwhelmed especially painting. I even had my husband make me an oversized lazy Susan like yours. I wish I knew what kind of oven you used to cure your dolls. It must be pretty big as you said you can fit your entire lazy Susan and the doll into the oven. I have seen other artist use heat guns but those require using a respirator.

Me too. I’m 38 and had everything taken out, no kids. I only found out about this world after seeing someone in Costco with a baby and I had a meltdown. I didn’t know they existed in this level of beauty, but also I didn’t know it was OK to have / want one. I saved my $ every chance I had and used credit to get one. I was elated. I didn’t know how I’d react once I had him in my hands. I cried, I laughed, I talked to him. It’s a mix bag for sure. Some days it helps more than anything, only a few days it makes me sad for what I couldn’t have. Overall, it was a great decision for my mental health. Even after watching so many box opening’s and all the online groups, I was reluctant to tell or show anyone my baby. But when I did, I was SO supported. I wish you well and hope you get your dream baby someday soon. 🖤

Hi Carolyn thank you for your tutorials, I wanted to ask how long do I wait to cure each layer. Do I paint a layer and then let it dry for a while then apply the next layer ? Or can I paint one layer after the other ? Thanks ❤

Hello there! I have been watching your tutorials over and over for a couple years now and finally got brave enough to try to paint my first silicone baby. I purchased pretty much everything you recommended on your website. I was wondering for the Gel that u use fur your paint...which do you recommend? I noticed that they have 10 20 30 etc just like ecoflex. The kit that I will be painting was poured in ecoflex 20 so should I paint with platsil 20 as well or what do you recommend? It’s the only thing I havnt purchased because I wasn’t sure.

I goofed, just like you said. I used something that must have had laytex to put the paint on... not the first coat, the second. How can I get it off? I've been using the OSS and rubbing. then I washed it. I have done this twice but I still see places that need to come off. Or maybe I'm trying too hard?

Have you ever used nitrile gloves while painting? I have metal braces on my fingers(to prevent hyperextension) and I am trying to keep them from leaving marks on the silicone. I am trying to find true "latex-free" but I am very worried.

Ironroseadorables personal collection yes there are vinyl gloves that are totally latex free you can use those but don’t get the powdered ones in case the powder affects the cure of the silicone

What shore hardness of Platsil was used in this video? I was planning on using ecoflex 10 for the baby. Should I use Platsil gel 10? (Also gel 10 mentions that it cures the a milky white, which is somewhat concerning.) Ty so much for your amazing video, it's incredibly valuable. I'm learning so much. :D

Platsil 00 is equal to Ecoflex 30 so is harder than Ecoflex 10. Don’t use Platsil gel 10 as that is much harder, it is measured on the A scale which is harder than the 00 scale. Both Ecoflex and Platsil (also dragonskin) cute milky white but are completely transparent when used thinned down as a paint.

@@CarolynDoughtyDolls Oooh, I see! I had forgotten about the A hardness thing, oopsie. Thank you so much. That clears up reading the numbers. So, do you recommend I use Platsil 00 with Ecoflex 10? Or would it be too hard and create a shell or skin over the silicone which would feel bad over the softness of ecoflex10? I want to make sure I buy the right one and not end up making the kiddo feel weird to the touch, do not want softshell baby. :( Ty so much for your help. 🥰

Sorry Carolyn I meant to mention before I intend putting the paint on my partial (I have been trying different ways but ONLY in the one of the palette wells it always comes out gooey thinker but I got up the other morning and went to wipe the well clean only to discover that out of the several attempts it had actually cured I made sure there was nothing latex as always,but even at that that shouldn't be right,should it? And each time I used a different color of paint as I only have the 7 color beginners set 1/2 ounce jars

So are you not supposed wear those rubber gloves? How are you supposed touched doll while your painting it to keep your oils off the doll😯😊? I paint vinyl reborn babies and I always wear gloves so I don't get oils on the doll.

LITTLE REBEL you don’t buy a mould you have to sculpt the baby yourself in clay then make a mould from it.

vexi vex yes and for every mould you may get 10 - 20 babies out before it breaks down. It’s an expensive process which is why silicone babies are so expensive. The mould making isn’t what takes the time you can make a mould in a week, it’s the sculpting of the baby that takes the time it can take months to sculpt a full baby

(Diane) brand on Amazon wedged sponges work amazing and cure without problems for anyone who wants to know a brand that's safe..I do suggest doing a test on them anyways to be sure as you never know when a company changes things and better to be safe,but I bought 100ct so have plenty to last Me for now
