I did road construction trucking in ND for a season. Humid as Dixie. Incredible thunderstorms at night. They provided RV sites for their workers. Power, water, sewer and trash. Great pay. Dickinson and Williston areas.

Yes while I was driving thru North Dakota had to do alot of research found city parks. Had a very nice one that was beside a golf course. At the time alot of golfers but nice place.

I heard that siren and ran to the window before I realized it was on the video. We had a tornado here 1 week ago, knocked out power for 3 days and the cable for 4. I'm still spooked, it was very scary.

They test the emergency weather alarm in our area. They test them every 1st Wednesday of the month. It's followed up with an announcement that it's only a test. As far as what will get ya? Not much really. Beware of ticks I guess. Algae blooms have been a problem though. Big fish kills in my state (MN & Wi).

There was an oil boom (the second one) so you can imagine the influx of people into ND. Even though it was centered around Williston, but as most ppl were from anywhere but ND, they’d set up anywhere. Enjoy the wide open spaces.

North Dakota especially the Western part has been hit hard by the oil industry. For several years you couldn’t even pay to camp anywhere. Hotels and motels were all full too. It’s a bit better now but not like it was. Eastern ND has the military influence so the camping situation isn’t much better. Your video is beautiful! I enjoyed it very much.

There are many small campsites in eastern ND that are very cheap ($5 night). But, they are not well known. P.S. I was born in Fargo and live in Grand Forks.

The best clarinetist is from williston. He is really an amazing person... He has the heart of a lion. He would talk about his home at the university he taught us.He loved North Dakota... I was curious about the area.because of him. He said that it snowed.....a ...lot....and if someone passed you would have to wait until the Spring...the ground was frozen.....

I’m from Michigan but I went camping in a few places in western South Dakota. The memory is still there. I went to the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. I remember going to Deadwood and to a deep, otherworldly cave. I can’t remember the caves name, but it was stunning. Take care.

I tried to boondock on Sheyenne National Grassland outside of Fargo, which is possible according to the web site. But everywhere I drove was rented out to private ranchers and off-limits for camping. It was too late in the day to find the ranger district office and ask for more info. Ah well.

Could grind up lentils into flour add water and seasonings and make quick and cheap wraps. Reds are best but any color will do. I've also ground up dried chickpeas. They work too but cost a lot more time on my inverter and batteries

My daughter lived in Bismarck a couple years, when she went to do grocery shopping on a Sunday & Walmart was closed she knew she was in a elevated conservative state! That siren is to warn about severe weather, tornadoes, or other emergencies. When you hear it, you should always tune into a local radio station to find out what the emergency is. Usually it is just a test of the siren system when you hear it though, but since nomads don't get the postcard in the mail that tells us the test scedule we don't ever know when it is a real emergency or just a test. And it's not just for tornadoes. My hometown in California has one in case there is a nuclear emergency at the local power plant.

Yes, had forgotten (forced myself to forget) the algae bloom problems from the agricultural runoffs down the Mississippi into the Gulf...All the nutrient rich fertilizers, methane, antibiotics, everything that went into cattle agriculture runs into our waters. You remind me of our native Indians who respected the land...If I could only join you, John D Liu and Mackenzie Scott into a room for some ecological healing!

Wow, you are going to Standing Rock. I miss that place. I was there during the pipeline protest. It was not easy getting in. Some locals told me safe routes in. I met so many awesome people there and it was one of the most important things I ever did. I went as part of a medical team and found many coworkers there. The experience changed how I looked at a lot of things, especially the government. Not a day goes by that I do not miss that place. I could tell you so much about what happened there. Most of what hit the news was untrue.

We run a drv rv park on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the furthest point west in the lower 48. We also have a siren here. If you ever get this way, I would wave the 20 dollar fee for you. Located in Port Orford Oregon. Overlooking the port and the reef. We have a 1960 gmc fishbowl bus named Bombshell. There would always be a spot for you here as long as we are here. Love your videos. Goofy little side note here, that you probably already know about… If you save the liquid off your chickpeas, you can add stevia/alternative sweetener to it and whip it into a dairy-free whipped cream. Don’t ask me how it works because I don’t know, but it does work and tastes good!

Great idea! I did not know there are charcoal dog bones, never saw them. I always have charcoal capsules for my dog. She got really sick after eating seaweed at the beach. I doubt she would have eaten a bone, she was not looking good. Two capsules and she was better pretty quickly, thank God.

Hey Carolyn. The sirens are emergency weather sirens warning people of serious storms approaching. I live in central Illinois and ours are tested each Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. We get notifications each Tuesday from our cities letting us know everything is ok and they are just tests. Stay safe and hope you keep finding places to boondocks. Scratch Sadie's ears to keep her calm when you hear the sirens. I do the same to keep my kitty, Tesla, calm.
