KEEP IN MIND! There are 3 groups living in vehicles and why it’s crowded on public land in 2024 & beyond. 1. Homeless people are living in vehicles until they can find affordable housing. They are making things crowded 2. HomeFREE people who chose to live in a vehicle full time or part time are making things crowded crowded 3 recreational people who have a house & RV, they are making things crowded

It all has to do with housing. Senior citizens can't afford on social security the basics, shelter, clothing, healthy food. Do we add health care?

I can’t throw rock without hitting an RV park where I am. Silly thing is, they’re all ag max capacity & they all have a quarter mill wrapped up in their RVs, that’ll be ready for the junk heap in 3 years or less. And every one of them has more wrapped up in their vehicle than I’d be able to get for my house. I’m sure most thought it was just temporary, but how tf are they able to save $, when their lot rent is more than a house payment?

Thanks! I’ve been following you for a while now. So glad you and Sadie are safe! I saw the fires near L.A. and my first thoughts were of you and Sadie (wondering if you were close to the danger) and my 2nd thought was of Joe Bonamassa, his huge guitar collection, 😊and his Nerdville locale in Cali. So happy to know all 3 of you are safe! Happy travels Carolyn…I appreciate you!💯❤️❤️

Peaceful boondocking next to the freeway. Just a relaxing video. Being in the desert, have you ran across any snakes? I'm not good with those critters. Thanks for bringing me along. See you next time.

The road noise can really sound like the river sometimes when you drift away in your mind, till you hear the honk of a horn or brakes screeching or something like Christopher Reeve pulling a penny out of his pocket, somewhere in time

I feel very much the same way about boondocking. I also did it, not to be cool (I'm way too old for that) but to travel to places I haven't been able to go to because I had a farm with animals. Now I feel like an unwelcome visitor in a lot of places. Makes me sad because I gave up a lot to do this and have had an amazing time the past 5 years but I think my time on the road maybe coming to an end 😕.

Good call!!! My eyes were just getting wider watching you and that cliff... You have nerves of steel. I get panicky off the pavement. I have flashbacks of a horrendous ridge in Kentucky that I fried my rig on... Lost the gas pedal about 100 yards from the top. OMG... Just. Not. Worth. It. I will never go to Kentucky again. It's a flyover state. LOL

Finding camps certainly has changed in my 30 years, way too easy with internet. Yet going at least one mile beyond the clusterfk campers helps. I've found many isolated places in Nevada. Not keen on driving, seeing, or hearing interstates. And like you, I'll only take the Class C in certain places. There's satisfaction in finding a good camp. Bet it feels good to be back in the desert. Sure is for me. Enjoy!

I still have a flip phone. LOL You NEVER stop hearing the highway. I lived next to Route 93 in NH for four years, and now it's been almost 7 since I left and I ended up with tinnitus, so basically still hear it. It's bad news. Pollution in the air, too. *Your tacos are pretty! We just had tacos, too. :) I'm glad you stayed. I wouldn't mind the highway, but it freaks me out to have no trees around. Love your shows, have a great week!

I have a favorite fly fishing place in Wyoming. We went there in 2019 and there was "one" other boondocker there and I had the entire river to myself. We went back in 2023 and I counted 56 vehicles there. The next day on the river, I counted over 60 people on a 2 mile stretch of river. Completely ruined.

Thank you for your honesty about the impact RV folks are making on public lands. I'm from Arizona and I've definitely noticed! I like to have the hiking trails pretty much to myself and it's getting harder and harder. I feel like that's only possible anymore if you backpack into wilderness areas. I'm getting a little old for that.

The sky looked so blue against the mountains. I wanted to paint it with a paintbrush lol That poor cow it’s all alone. I feel so bad for cows out there. If they get sick there is nobody there to help them. I don’t know why I feel so bad for them. 🫣

If I had one of Matt’s off road vehicles I would try those roads. Meanwhile, on foot looks the best. Seems like the charge ports and cords quit, so frustrating. I think freeway sounds, smells do effect your body in many ways. Love you rv night shots

Carolyn, do you remember how California towns have been passing laws about cracking down on the nomads and homeless? Well now look at how many people are now homeless thanks to the fires. I wonder how many of those thousands are going to become nomads now.

The problem with phones are the "updates" they send you to "keep” your phone secure. When in reality they mess with your phone so you NEED to replace it.

I'm watching your video from here in Thailand, where I've retired with my pension/&SS from the USA. I know I'm a hermit, and now, after watching you in this video, I feel a lot better about that. I've followed you for years, but this video specifically has made me realize that I live my life a lot like you do. I just go along, doing whatever, keeping up with my online friends but hardly ever participating in actual meet-ups or get-togethers. Your videos kind of "give me permission" to be this way! Thanks! I will say that my lifestyle -- at age 74! -- is way easier than yours, here in the Condo where I can call "Grab" to bring me food or supplies, or schedule a housekeeper to come clean this place!! 😄👍 If you ever get too frail to do what you do, come to Thailand! Live the good life on a fraction of what you spend in the USA. 👍🙏😎🏞️🌅🌏🐘
