I live in Sierra Madre CA (the town next to Pasadena CA) and maybe 3 miles from Eaton Canyon. I have had some wind damage but no fire damage at the moment. I am a few streets down from the mountain. A friend who lives in Eaton Canyon lost everything, house, car, everything. At first I was on voluntary evacuation and lost power. I am back home now, after staying at a church and then with a friend. So much destruction in the Altadena/Eaton Canyon area.

Not intending to be trite or disrespectful under these awful conditions, but I too have lived in Angeles Area. I have to say that my heart is with those who have lost so much. I also grieve the loss of the beauty in those areas affected. As many know the architectural history of those areas is rich and outstanding in California history. I am so sorry to see so many beautiful dwellings go up in fire. They can never be replaced. Building practices are much different and those old Mediterranean inspired dwellings are lost forever. What a tragedy. And I pray for those who are injured or have passed as a result of this unprecedented event.

This wind event is terrible. The fires are just unbelievable to see and comprehend. We Californias are used to fires and earthquakes. This fire has been something I have never seen. Maybe a few houses but not 1000’s. So many have nowhere to go. The evacuation area is huge as well. I pray every night for them. I hope they can recover but that will take years unfortunately. Got out for my first walk in a week. In the Valley section of LA - hiking trails I love in the Santa Monica mountains are burned. The firefighters and the airdrop pilots and personnel have been beyond incredible this week. Hoping the worst is over. I lived in Southern California for 20 years 1972 to 1992. It was like that even back then. That song " It never rains in California " is so true. Same with the Santa Ana winds. I have 2 sisters that still live in California. One in Santa Maria Northern California and the other in San Diego Southern California. Many prayers for everyone there. Stay safe❤

Thoughts for healing and recovery for all negatively impacted by the fires and winds. Understand you hunkering down in your trailer. We experienced a similar wind event while staying in Tehachapi - 45-55 mph 75-100 mph gusts on the ridges. The big trucks were parked, along with every big 5th wheel and Class A. A couple of comments : #1….I know this was produced prior to the fires and I hope you did well, nothing worse than running from fire, let us know how you are as soon as you can. On a different note, you promote AG1 and try to live a healthy lifestyle. I did notice your morning routine you use coffee mate creamer. We all have our vices ( we do too) but being a stage 3 cancer recipient we are trying to change our eating habits as well. With that being said we have switched to Chobani creamer with very limited ingredients. I urge you to give it a try as coffee mate is loaded with chemicals. We have come to live by the motto tomorrow is not promised and try to do the best we can while we are here on this earth. Be safe !

And pre-shredded cheese, while convenient, has cellulose in it to keep it from clumping. Better to buy a block and shave off what you need with a knife (grater not necessary.) Not that time consuming, and you avoid ingesting funky, not so healthy additives. ‘Tastes and melts better, too, so at least you won’t feel deprived. ‘Forcing myself to be more mindful about the toxins added to our foods which are designed for longer shelf life. Unfortunately these are taking a toll on the human shelf life! At least we can start with better choices. Thank you for your wonderful videos. We care about your health!

I've been in a similar situation, but it was nothing, compared to this devastation. My mind can't wrap around the absolute horror of losing everything, and the worst, losing a loved one to such a horrific event. My prayers for everyone who is feeling loss. We use Beefy Onion soup from Lipton, we think it gives the burger a beefier flavor but still has the onions. If we don’t use that, we usually have a sliced Vidalia onion on it. I love Pumpernickel bread with a thick coating of Irish Kerry Gold butter, and a thick slice of Vidalia onion too. Must be my German ancestry.

We got you beat on rising early - we've been up since 3 a.m. PST. The reason - we're planning our first RV trip of the year and we're so excited we couldn't sleep! Actually, we're heading to Palm Springs, CA - we have a reservation at a Thousand Trails park beginning next week.
