I'm sure you get more unsolicited advice than you need, but I have to add my 2 cents worth. On a long road trip a few years back, the small crack in my windshield went from 0 to 60 in about a month. I ignored it, thinking I'd get it fixed when I returned home, and I paid dearly for that. On an interstate (yeah, had to for a bit), I was passed by a long-haul truck that kicked up a rock that caused my windshield to "explode" -- inward -- and I was in the ditch the next thing I knew. The windshield was almost completely GONE! I was injured, my dog was injured, and my wallet was injured. The next time I saw even a small bullet-hole crack, I immediately got it fixed. Lesson learned the hard way. I know you like to live free, and don't appreciate "meddlers," but there are some things that you cannot put off or ignore because they just might cause you (and Sadie!) great harm. I love your channel, I love your sense of self-sufficiency, I love your rebel attitude! Take good care & be very safe xoxo

As a former auto glass installer for 26 years, I was really surprised when they release the vehicle that quickly . 20 some years ago when I was doing it, we had to hold the vehicle for 4 to 8 hours depending on what the temperature was outside. Yes, it does need to sit and cure. If it’s still loose when you leave, I would go to a different company. They obviously don’t know how to install glass. It needs to be completely removed and reinstalled with fresh urethane and allowed to cure. Another thing we used to do is put tape around the windshield to body area and have the customer peel it off the next day just to prevent any movement at all.

Hi Carolyn, I don’t know if you have moved on from from Utah and heading towards Washington State but I live on the dry side in the Tri-Cities (Richland) we have a lot of free parking along the Columbia River and a great low fee place all grass and choice of no hookups clean bathrooms and hardly ever has more the a few campers it’s kind of hidden away and a sort walk to the Wenatchee River. We are very close to Canada, Montana, Idaho, Oregon some beautiful camping in all these states. You and Sadie more then welcome to a long hot shower or spa tub and to use my laundry. My first trip to the RTR is that right? Can’t remember the name … I wanted to meet you and Capone but it was the year you missed must of been 2019 or 2020 as Covid came along after that. When I was thinking about buying a travel trailer you where the first person I started watching on KZbin to find out what I needed to know. Also when you were planning your trip to New Zealand I mentioned I used to live there actually for 14 years my 2 kids started school there and finished school there and they went back to Australia to get jobs in Sydney. The few times I have talked to you here I signed off New Zealand Lynzee to help you to remember me as I don’t comment to often. Anyway you’re welcome to use my facilities and I’ll show you and Sadie some great spots to overnight. I just lost my two dogs Shy the year before last she was 17 and my little Izzy last December he was 16 I knew he was old and thought I was prepared but the loss was terrible still getting over it so I understand how bad it was when you lost Huck. Let me know if you do get to my neck of the woods. NZ Lynzee

I replaced my windshield on my 04 sprinter, but pretty sure I let it sit in driveway for a while. So far so good, years later. I had to take out at home, sand down the rust and prime and paint. Installers came to house, they were awesome. Good luck with that windshield. I loved that flaming gorge area. Had some great times up in that area. Dinosaur National Monument is worth seeing, not far.

You can sometimes prevent windshield crack from spreading by notching perpendicular at end of crack. Also you can sometimes "steer" the crack back down to bottom by putting pressure with your palm or an object at end of the crack
