Hi Carolyn. My name is Thomas and I like to watch your videos because you are so down to earth. You said on your video that you are trying to help women more than men and I appreciate that but I can believe and have seen that you are helping men out just as well. I am 71 years old and your first video was when I fell in love with your (and others) lifestyle.However as much as I would like to my health will not allow me to. Keep up the good work and do be careful out on the road and keep the videos coming.

I can really relate to being as you say a "healthy black sheep" that's priceless. I know how hard it is to dis-engage from some family members, but at the end of the day if they're stressing you out and making your life a living hell then it's not healthy to be around them. I'm proud to be a member of your audience and I would encourage you to continue keeping it real and continue what you're doing. Never sell out.

I know, right! My mother LITERALLY called me a black sheep TO MY FACE. For why? Asking for counseling to get over abuse. My dad, the only person who actually loved me, he was a bit gruff with me about counseling but then he said the BEST THING EVER! "Well, kid, if anyone can work things out, you can." Miss you buddy ya ornery old coot.
@munchkinheaven78777 жыл бұрын
The saying is old but true, you can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family! But you can choose to walk away from your family if they are not healthy to be around! I did and it did not go down too well, I did not have contact with my brother and sister for over 15 years, then my brother "reached out" and I let him in, and boy did it turn out to be a HUGE mistake! All the old sh... came back, recriminations, old wounds opened up again, I realised that all our our "private" conversations were being transferred straight back to my sister, my old memories came back and I was again back in that bad place that I had walked away from, I had moved on, they hadn't and I realised they fuel each other and then lash out. People say "never say never" but I am saying this loud and clear, NEVER again will I open up that door, I went down that dark rabbit hole that I had fought to climb out of and it has taken a while to stay on top, so Carolyn, keep your space, defend your space, that space keeps you sane and grounded, and don't let anyone get you down. X

Yeah I have a brother I don’t speak to. My mama used to say I love him I just don’t like him. I too love him, but as far I can tell he is a narcissist and there is no help for a narcissist because they don’t think they have a problem. I do try to keep up with him through one family member who does talk with him from time to time. I pray for him and I pray for his safety.

I have viewed this video twice. Thank you for your honesty. I have traveled like you are, only I was on a sailboat. I really loved meeting people along the way who were criticized for “dropping out”, and all I can say is I felt like living off grid helped me drop in to my real self. I still worked along the way to earn money to support myself and did some really crazy jobs. So thanks again for your refreshing spirit!

That was one of the most insightful videos I have ever watched. Thank you Carolyn! When I read certain comments on your YT site or Bob's and others, I am often disgusted by the hate. But then I think about what motivated that hate and why these commenters feel the need to voice it. They are broken (or dysfunctional, to use the more common term) and instead of being disgusted, I want to understand their pain and wish for their healing so that they can be happier and more loving human beings.
@MaisleyVanGo7 жыл бұрын
Congrats, Carolyn, on one full year on YT! Love your travel footage, love your instructional videos, but I especially love when you "babble" because it is then that we really get to know you. I got to say that I was a little concerned when you were describing how you were chasing after another viral video but I should've known better that you'd follow it up with "as long as I stay true to myself, it doesn't really matter". Yes! It really *is* your genuineness and openness that will draw people to your channel (not some marketing formula) and will keep us coming back. But what really inspired me in this video....that you not only got thru a dysfunctional childhood and some obviously very painful things in your past but describing how you turned the toxic cesspool that is the internet comment section into a springboard for self growth and discovery. Girl, you just plain rock!! Thank you for sharing your life with us. :-)

Thank you for your authenticity! Continue to take in the peace, calm and love and continue to discard the displaced anger and hurt from others. There is so much trauma that is finally finding it’s voice and, with it, the pushback to try to silence it. I believe that we have a beautiful, if not painful, opportunity to empower women and all those who have experienced the abuse of power by others. Your journey gives testament to this. We may have our own stories and our own battles but we are also all in this together and can be a great source of strength, support and encouragement for each other. Keep keeping it real and Shine on!

I am a full time Nomad also. My Mom and grown kids have disowned me. They don't understand and consider what I am doing as somehow wrong and selfish. They will not have any contact with me unless I move back, get a house and a job. I have never met my 2 grandchildren and that hurts. But I can't allow anyone to tell me how to live and put conditions on their love. I am so happy being a nomad and do not miss any part of my old life. Beautiful video! I relate on sooo many levels. I commend you for sticking to your true self and for putting up with all the BS that comes with it. I too, seek this place in life that you seem to have found. I have said many times that Bob Wells is a hero of mine and I am adding you to my short list! I think it's maybe easier to deal with people in person than on here because they have a computer screen in front of them and don't have to deal with what they are spewing, or maybe I should say to be held accountable. Regardless, I just really am proud for you and love to see the contentment when you smile. You've come a long way baby! Carolyn, you are the bomb. I really love you. I have four daughters and nine grandchildren with one on the way. To break it down, there are four grandsons, three granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and one grandson on the way. He's due in March. Our family is pretty dysfunctional too. But we love each other enough to stay in touch and are there for each other in an emergency. However, I am almost 82 and homebound..no car, can't afford it any more. I have noticed when I make a comment on a particular website, I get insulted by lowlife scum who just get their jollies from being evil to others. I went from being upset and angry to being amused and laughing my ass off. My dog even looks at me like he's worried that something is wrong./lolol Stay as sweet and honest as you are and I will be hoping to see more videos from you. My good wishes to you for your happiness and happy anniversary.

Dearest Caroline. I feel like your anniversary is my anniversary as well. After spending almost a year watching you and Bob and Eric I went all in and bought myself a small 20ft RV. She is old and I had to do a lot of work to her but I'm out on the road now and loving it. Two weeks ago I took my first trip and a friend and went to Palm Desert and Joshua Tree for a few days and this pastg week I spent a week in the desert. One night in Death Valley but all the rest of the nights boonedocking. You were with me the entire time. My first night I camped in an area where ATV's had been and I heard your voice telling me that it might be to soft to park there. I listened to coyote at night, I saw my first mountain goat in the states and Carolyn, I saw wild horses. I am hooked and can't wait to set off on the road full time. Thank you, it really is because of you that I am brave out there all by myself!!! You have shown me how to do so many things. I am coming to the RTR and hope to meet you and #capone there. Thank you for my new life!!!!

Carolyn, you are a wise and insightful woman. Thank you for sharing your personal side and the effects of being transparent for those of us who want to know you. You inspire me. I'm 52 and dream of living in my motorhome full time. I just long to get away from the hustle and get closer to nature and my true self. Thank you for being you!

Thank for sharing a piece of you in your videos. I enjoy watching #capone explore in the background. He's a sweet furbaby. I look forward to finding out who wins the headlight...headlamp. I know I could use it but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You are a marketing person and understand the neuonces(forgive my spelling) for building a following/clientele. Most of the You Tubers aren't, but you do have a lot to teach people like me. I feel that I'm learning so much from you and Bob and others. Thank you

i love your videos! I am 44 and my dream is to travel like you. I see your transformation through your videos. I came from a severely dysfunctional family and have cut them off from my life to save my own sanity. Thank you for being authentic and sharing your journey with me. You have shared not only a different way of living, but a different way of thinking about life. Your perspective is fresh and interesting. Keep doing what your doing because I believe that you are following your own path. Thank you!

Thank you again I enjoyed this video. I was a little surprised to hear that your Core audience or middle-age females as I am not one i find your videos very interesting. I guess I didn’t think about it but your videos definitely transcend gender. I guess your message comes across as very genuine and that’s what I was attracted to it first. Please keep making videos. I enjoy them for entertainment knowledge and inspiration congratulations and continuing success.

Carolyn, thank you for just being you. I love your channel and watch it often, and myself being a 7 year full-timer in a class c also I find your channel enjoyable, refreshing, and honest. Also being from a totally dysfunctional family I totally understand what you talked about. I too was self-employed, at 52 just threw it away (kids grown, on my own), and cast off the bowlines. I make about 20% of what I made before annually but I now enjoy every day. Keep the vids coming, and best of luck to you.
