We don't expect or even tolerate receiving nothing for the something we put out in our jobs. Why should we expect Carolyn or any other rv nomads to give of their time, skills, knowledge, experience (that we benefit from), for nothing? You go, Girl! It's a new form of self-employment and we just need to get our heads around it. Love your documentary talents. The one on Selma brought me near to tears.

I'm about to turn 39 years old, and like you, I'm also a writer who was always discouraged from pursuing it (and I still receive quite a bit of that even now). I stopped writing for an extended period, and pretty much all the joy went out of my life. A few years ago, I allowed myself to finally give over to my love of writing again, and I have to say, nothing makes me feel more whole, nothing makes me feel such a keen sense of well-being and fulfillment. I will never go back to a life without it. Hence, that's why I'm so excited for you, to see you making the decision to give over yourself, and get back to that dream. I wondered if I had gotten 'too old' to go back to it myself. It's a wonderful feeling to realize the saying "It's never too late" is actually 100% true and not just a cliche', isn't it? You can still have those dreams, and I'm so happy you're going to chase them. You're going to have so much fun, and it's going to feel AMAZING! It's going to be great, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it all takes you. I will definitely continue to follow your adventures, and I'll be hitting that 'like' button (I do forget sometimes, I admit it's helpful to me when creators include a reminder, I don't personally find that pushy or annoying). You're so inspirational, for so many reasons. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!

Thank you for putting yourself (even in harms way!) out there for us to learn from. I did not know how KZbin works, so now that I have been educated, I will be sure to like all your videos in the future..I already watch them all the way through. ☺ May God bless you and keep you safe in your travels!!

Hi Carolyn, just want to let you know that a number of KZbinr's get haters harassing them to extreme degrees, for no apparent reason. It's really shocking - these haters must have no lives at all, and their meanness of spirit speaks much more about them than about the people they claim need harassment. It often appears that the more good someone does, the more they get harassed. Just keep up the good work, and good luck with everything. I love your videos!
@donedennison92377 жыл бұрын
It's a kind of weird jealousy. Often it's an attempt to make the person they're watching as miserable as the harasser is. People who are bullied, first need to protect themselves and form a tribe of buddies to at the very least.. surround them with kind thoughts. Since Carolyn likes to do alone things and be independent, a physical tribe isn't going to be her thing. Us Friendlies then get to be a tribe of good thought and light. Chase away the darkness.

Carolyn I just wanted to say I used a ramp at my door after a bad herniated disc. When I did not need ramp anymore I had to rebuild my leg muscles going up one step. Same with using electric wheel chairs in stores. After 2 months or so I got up out of wheel chair I could barely walk. So I did not use chair again to rebuild my walking muscles. I did at first need to use push shopping cart. If there are stairs I use them to build muscle. I am saying this for ur dog. Go as long as possible not making a ramp 4 him so he keeps his muscles and let him walk as far as he can. When we get old we should use more muscle, not less to keep strong. God bless u two, Love Pam, Happy Trails!

To Krista or whomever else: She didn't ASK for money or beg for money .. she basically offered a subscription option to those who want an insider view or connection with her beyond all the free content she puts out there for 99% of the rest. YOU go to work every single day and not only expect, but NEED income in exchange for your time and knowledge, right?! It's the same thing on KZbin with tubers who put out quality content and have built a following. There are tubers out there doing this for fun, a hobby, or a video once in a while.. if those people "blatantly ask for money", then I see your point. But Carolyn is no E-begger, she's no bum, she's built businesses for herself and earned her own living ... she's proved herself on many levels, which is opposite from other tubers who did nothing with their lives, but came on youtube and asked for handouts. Video creation is VERY time consuming and a lot goes into them behind the scenes! People really have no idea what it takes, they just think videos magically appear for their viewing pleasure. It's ridiculous and the sense of entitlement from some chaps my ass (thus this comment). What she's doing with this sub option she's offering, is no different from people in the biz and marketing world offering "inner circle coaching" packages to work more closely with folks who want to. It's the same concept but in a different genre and a more relaxed platform like Patreon.. so really, anyone's close minded, judgemental, bashing comments is sooooo disappointing to see on here.

Watching Less Junk, More Journey a few weeks ago, they said that a viewer would have to watch something like 60,000 ads all the way through to equal a $2 a month patreon subscriber. That's just math. This notion that someone has to do and think exactly like we do or lose our admiration for the bits we like, it's just so, hostile to the whole world. I'm not a vegan, but I know it's not my right to even care that Carolyn is.

Some people don't understand it is something to post a video here and there on youtube but it becomes different when to commit to post videos on a weekly basis...it is totally different...i do make videos for personal purpose and others and unless you do this with the editing time most people are not aware of the time it takes to renew the ideas...ect...so Carolyn i totally understand what you are saying...it is just a co-creation ...and money is just one componant....anyway Carolyn...i lift my hat to you.....

This was a great, interesting and instructive video. I'm becoming a bigger fan. I wish you all the good luck! Feel free! Kind regards from Belgium.

I love your videos Carolyn. Although I subscribe to a few channels, I have never looked for new postings or necessarily looked forward to same. However, I can't seem to get enough of your videos. I so enjoy following you as you share your RV life. I'm so happy for you and your decision to "go all in" ... "all gas and no brakes." You are a wonderful person with a sweet soul. Thank you for the many gifts you give to us. I'm in. I'll be happy to support your efforts and can't wait to see more. Also, please write that book. I'm sure it will be a best seller!

I've got to say you have got to be my most very favorite vloger/youtuber. Unfortunately I dont have the financial resources to support you monetarily. But I watch you everyday, repeats even. I learn so much from you. My dream is to be where you're at. I may not ever make it to your level but I keep holding onto the dream.

I wish I has your strength, or could find mine. I'm listening to you talk about other people squashing your dreams has been my life. I'm now 57 and feel too old to start over. But you really inspire me so who knows? I'm still alive, right, I still have a life! I'm loving your videos!

You are successful and you speak openly. These things are hated by the likes of trolls and 'sick' people. I wish you happiness and contentment - there will be excitement - acheive those dreams you let go of.

I can relate to you and you were the first woman I found on KZbin who is doing this. You really inspire me. My family keeps trying to talk me out of full time rving. You are who really helps to keep my dream alive!

I watch all the videos all the way through. Don't want to miss a thing.. So cool your going to follow your dreams, just this year I have decided to also try and publish my manuscripts 7 in total that I wrote over the years, they are more like Stephen Kings books. People that have read them said I really need to do something with them. That they enjoyed them. So I have been going to follow my dreams also... In the process of changing my life so I can be happy I am 62 years old and worked in dept of Corrections and some type of law enforcement all my life...I have been a slave to the government and now it's time for me to be free of the 9 to 5 job that really was almost 16 hours a day at times. It is now time for me and my handicapped daughter that is 45 to do what makes us feel happy, you are such a inspiration... Good Luck in all you do, and of course I will enjoy following you on you tube...

you start over if that is what you want. you are only 50. you are young and can do what you want to .......before it is too late....... i am 74 and now looking back i have all these feelings about what i lost and now it is too late. being from the generation that thought ladies were supposed to get married and have children and a home!!! well, i tried 7 times. nothing has worked and now i am lost and feel too old to do anything . so you keep making those videos, lots of us out here need you. thank you

Carolyn! Wowza! I don't know why KZbin recommended this video from a lifetime ago...but holy. shit! This is an amazing video. I love when your humanity shows up in your emotion. Lady. This is a great, life changing, "a-ha!" moment. Love this for you. 🥰

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to buy a motor-home and travel. My family often joke about the fact that while other people work to build up their assets, I am working towards minimizing my assets so that I can travel and lead a simple life. Travelling as a woman alone is also not considered "ideal" in South Africa, but something that still tugs at my soul strings. Thank you for inspiring me to fight for my dream and stirring up the courage for me to at least start planning towards where I want to be.

Thank you for posting your journey! I am taking care of my elderly family right now, yet I dream of going on the road when my family passes on. I dream of traveling the country in my camper van. Currently, it is in the shop. I will be renovating it slowly over the next few years. Huge hugs!

Not sure if you do.never divulge location until out of there.If you stay in a place for a length of time ,never divulge until gone.So the Vids will be a little old.No matter.

You don't need a lot of money for software. You can produce a decent video using Ubuntu/Linux and using Kdenlive -all free. Yes, they require a learning curve, I'm just learning myself, but for those just starting out who have the time to learn a new system it is worth a try and if you are paying subscription fees to Adobe, learn it fast.

Might I suggest also doing live streams (if you have the wifi to do so, maybe once a month) KZbin now allows people to tip while watching livestreams. I think that might be a great way to do Q&As and also have alot of us support you financially.

it's great to be watching you again! After moving from house (with unlimited data) to RV (with not so much), I had to stop my You Tube viewing. But, thanks to my new unlimited plan, I can once again enjoy your life on the road. Glad you're going to keep it coming! Follow those dreams!

Dear Miss All Gas no Breaks... You are a natural. Period. I loved this video just as much cause it is both biographical and delves into the KZbin video sharing/ channel creation. I'd live to be doing exactly the same that you are doing. RVing and video blogging my experiences. Keep it up Carolyn. All the best with your next steps. Staying tuned... Your friend from Melbourne/Australia. PS... Since you have no breaks, there's no way I'd get on the road with you!!! Lol Have a wonderful day.

I know I am here just as a placeholder for all of you who have dreams and desires of your own. I realize that this isn't about me.. but about helping all of you live your truth through me.. I am your vehicle. And I;m honored and proud to be here giving you a taste of freedom!!! thank you so much for allowing me into your life!

I truly wish we could afford that $1 a month... Our retirement is budgeted on living in an RV, not here. "Here" is the main reason we planned to go on the road- too close to people, especially people who watch your every move, and the bills that go with a sticks and bricks. Once again we've hit another delay. John is back in the hospital. There was an obvious accident/screw-up during his surgery... ureters don't nick themselves. He's been there a week today and none of the doctors are giving us a discharge day possibility. I believe they're a bit afraid of what we might do... and we haven't decided yet. But I am trying to smile!!!
@paultroiani2557 жыл бұрын
Debra Cloud-Leight I am praying for your husband. Sorry for your troubles. Remember one thing.... errors happen and they are covered by insurance for that reason. The question is if the error is actually an honest mistake that could happen in the course of the operation because of the difficulty, or if it was carelessness. Carelessness deserves compensation. Be true to yourself and your husband.

Debra.. please.. I don't want anyone to feel bad for not becoming a patron.. Like I said, I'm grateful for everyone who watches, likes and shares my videos.. You are smart to watch every dollar!!! I wish you the best.. take care and remember some days, no smile is required!!
