Carp Fishing : A Week in France

www.croixblanch...:- A carp fishing session in France filmed back in 2006. It features top carp anglers Shaun Harrison & Ron Woodward who are part of a group of four anglers travelling over to France to fish for carp. Loads of tips and information on what to expect when tackling a foreign trip.
Note: I have already posted this as a five part series, but I've received several requests to post the entire film in one long clip. So here it is.

What an immense trip. This is something I defo need to do next year. I stopped going fishing about 8 years ago and due to having so much stuff and not having room for it, I sold it all(which I regreat now), I've just started going again so I have just started buying loads of tackle again. It's not cheap that's for certain. I wouldn't mind trying france and the river ebro in spain, I've always wanted to go there.

very nice vid, It's nice to see people enjoying fish for how they look and fight rather then just on pure size. Don't get me wrong they are big fish, but I would rather a week catching these then sitting waiting for one run in the week on the off chance of a real monster. holy crap! walker of trowell, i literally live down the road from that shop! Im crazy about fishing and go carp fishing all the time, and ive been into that shop plenty as well! I can't believe ive just seen that shop!!!!

@TheStevo3034 Hi Stevo, I'd suggest maize. Just soak it over night and cook for about 45 mins until its soft. Grass carp and regular carp love maize. You can add tins of sweet corn and its juice to your feed. You can put 3 or 4 pounds of free offerings into the water and fish with 3 or 4 graines on a hair rig over your baited zone. You might want to try feeding the area for two or three days before you go fishing to attract the fish to feed in that area. tight lines Gareth

During that trip I was using Free Spirit Hi 'S' rods and Daiwa SS3000 reels.

@YehItsScott long leaner fish are generally more powerful. The fatter/heavier ones tend to stick to the bottom. Also the deeper the water also gives the impression of a harder fight.

The fish in there are in great condition an all. Basically every carp you caught broke my PB, which is the reason why I need to go to france. Ever been on the Ebro? I wouldn't mind fishing on there for the big commons, wels catfish and the barbel.

A linear is a type of Mirror Carp that has a line of usally cresent shaped scales running the length of its flank.

the main reason for holding the rod to the side is it helps raise the fish off the bottom the carp are more likely to come to the surface good skills in weedy lakes.

@champangler95 Hi There's no one bait that is best for catching carp, and you certainly can't single out the commons. For double figure fish 10-15mm boilies combined with pellets, hemp and sweetcorn should see the carp get interested in your bait. Regards Gareth

@@Mel-he1hg Thank you for your comment... This one took a lot of planning and time, with virtually no budget... It would be nice to do more, but things kind of dried up... Nonetheless we had a great time doing it.. and it really was filmed in sequence like a road movie... I just wish I'd had the same quality camera I have now.. This was shot on HDV and is not great on KZbin with the rubbish compression at the time of uploading..
