Hi Rich. I am off to Croatia in a few weeks carp fishing and some of the swims there need you to fish at 150 yards. I was looking at Katran Carp Line..... I think I would need to go for a lower diameter than the 21lbs. When you hit 45 wraps level line casting I am assuming that was just a lead with no bait and rig? If you were fishing at extreme range what diamter in this line would you go for? I would be using a 50lbs braided shock leader... 2500000214141 Crypton Carp 12,78 Lb 0,286mm 1000 m camo 2500000214158 Crypton Carp 15,5 Lb 0,309mm 1000 m camo I like the idea of the 12.78 lbs for the distance but also like the idea of the extra strength of the 15.50 lbs, cant decide, any advice greatly appreciated. Hi Kevin, personally if your fishing at 150 then I’d drop to the 12lb crypton and pair it with a tapered leader or a 50lb braided leader. The crypton is mega strong even on the 12lb rated so you won’t have any problems with that and in that diameter it will absolutely fly. The 15lb will also cast miles and would be my own personal choice but it comes down to how comfortable you are at casting at them distances. Hi Rich, really appreciate the information and your time in replying to my question. I will give the 15 lbs a go and see how I get on. I have some lower diameter line I am taking and if I am struggling with distance I will re-spool out there. I will let you know how it goes getting excited now. Thanks again, Kevin
