If you know the venue, then you can normally base your tactics around the weather conditions. Saves lots of messing about and carrying to much gear!

Tight bobbins give instant bite indication, lost too many fish using slack lines and long drops on bobbins. That style was a fad back in the 90s 😂 it’s ok when fishing close range, a couple of rod lengths max but not good fishing across to tree cover on a far margin.

@@TheFishingBloggers you can still use a long bobbin drop fishing with tight lines and learn what's happening between you and the rig end, I'm a bit old school only been fishing for 50 years and I'm not 60 years old yet(3 years time). Try carping with a .75 oz lead 👍😎

No significant mouth damage, it was hooked bottom lip In the flesh. Think it might have been a bad hook, was giving it some pressure but not overly. Hook was a Korda wide gape
