Glad it was helpful. Most people just use things because someone tells them to, without actually looking at how it works. Most people that have made content on the rig have just copied someone else, I don’t think many people understand how a lot of rigs work to be honest. I’m not saying I’m correct, it’s just my understanding of how the rig functions.

Top Marks fella. I made the mistake of trying the shot on the hook rig again ( did decades ago with no noticeable difference ) on a carp and cat lake . Carp were hooked great and a lil' further back but the Cats were hooked too far back for my liking and I shelved the rig . Carp only is a decent tweak but on a lake with Cats they're hooked way back . Great video pal. Steve M

This time of year is ridiculously hard on some waters, Good foing for a few bites 👍🎣....Now then, the "shot on the hook",, where can i start ?, it has the main advantage of presenting the hook point aggressively downwards, leading to faster hookups and better hook holds, particularly when fishing on pressured waters where carp are wary of bait...however, i think the major downside is that it can snag easily on uneven lakebeds due to the hook position, limiting its effectiveness in certain situations.
