Great watch as always a few members of my club lake have been using the shot on the hook wich from what I've seen is not proving more effective than with out wich is why I've not jumped on the hand wagon either but wait till that changes onto the next adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 👊 🎣

Only a year into my carp journey still learning alot on rig construction. Been using pre tied power bandits (local doesn't allow boilies) last session thought i was going to blank. Tried a shot on the hook and caught a pb of 9 1/4lbs (small i know) possibly a coincidence but might try it some more to see if does make a difference. Love the videos, keep them coming 👍🎣

Glad it was helpful. Most people just use things because someone tells them to, without actually looking at how it works. Most people that have made content on the rig have just copied someone else, I don’t think many people understand how a lot of rigs work to be honest. I’m not saying I’m correct, it’s just my understanding of how the rig functions.

I literally use a three turn knot less knot and a bit of rig tube to trap the hair on the shank. Then a figure of eight loop to attach to the swivel at the lead. It’s about as basic as it gets….used it since 2001/2002 and it still does the job 👍🏻

In them conditions Shaun you deserve a medal for not only turning up but filming and sharing the venture, battling through in them conditions with more than your share of bad luck ( net and go pro muffler ) and still catching carp and snotty's in a mud bath . Top Marks fella. I made the mistake of trying the shot on the hook rig again ( did decades ago with no noticeable difference ) on a carp and cat lake . Carp were hooked great and a lil' further back but the Cats were hooked too far back for my liking and I shelved the rig . Carp only is a decent tweak but on a lake with Cats they're hooked way back . Great video pal. Steve M

I’m not a “real” carper but i do think half of the stuff coming out nowadays is to catch the fisherman / sell more. A lot of people go on about disguising hooks etc but then have swivels / rings / shot right near the hook that stand out, which seems far to complicated to me. Tight lines

Not found the need to use a weight on the hook. I have used solid bags but, my preference for quick bites is pva mesh. This time of year is ridiculously hard on some waters, Good foing for a few bites 👍🎣....Now then, the "shot on the hook",, where can i start ?, it has the main advantage of presenting the hook point aggressively downwards, leading to faster hookups and better hook holds, particularly when fishing on pressured waters where carp are wary of bait...however, i think the major downside is that it can snag easily on uneven lakebeds due to the hook position, limiting its effectiveness in certain situations.

I’ve got a net attached to each of my rod setups. I left it at home as I hung the net up to dry after my last session and forgot to put it back on the hold-all 🤦🏼‍♂️

Is the Bug amino your favorite one?Did you catch bigger fish with that lead shot on your hook?I personally dont think it makes any different however i will try it next time thanks for another good video👍

I’ve not caught a ‘big’ fish for about six months, been just going out and getting bites on limited time. The Bug has been my go to, but I use the S7 just as much

@@mrjoker2749 we’ve been sponsored by DNA for 5/6 years now so no need to look at other bait. Yes we have a couple of syndicate tickets, just not had the time to go to them. Been doing lots other fishing too, been on the rivers after the chub and grayling recently. We will get back to some longer sessions soon, just lots of commitments keeping us close to home recently
