Nice I do the same but with a 20mm boilie because I do believe that small particles like hemp, corn keep fish longer searching. When I started using it like I do now. I can see the difference + like Kevin is saying if you're putting natural baits in the mix you're going for a good mix. 👍

Where I fish the carp and tench have become crafty. They will Hoover up the small feeder bait but will ignore anything bigger than that including I believe any loose boilies or pellets that may be included in the feeder. They seem to know that hoovering up tiny stuff is safe but anything bigger spells danger. So any boilie or pellet on the hook is ignored,. I now use a smaller hook say a size 10 and put on it something that's in the feeder bait, maybe a grain of sweet corn or two grains of stewed wheat. Since doing this and dumping the use of boilies and pellets my catches have increased. Of course I could have just used boilies or pellets alone as a feeder plus matching a hook bait. But chucking £20 notes into a lake is not my style. However opinions vary.

Could you try the fake rubber hemp on a hair? Then you can catch them when all they’re eating is the hemp

Good comment on shelf life... I don’t have the luxury of a spare freezer and rely on a quality bait.

is there any reason why you've changed too a knot rather than a loop on the swivel of your ronnie rig?

Probably fishing slack lines on the deck. Maybe to avoid wind currents

Why are maggots banned on some waters?
@jakegraham80317 жыл бұрын
Double S there isn't really any nutrional value in them but fish can still get preoccupied on them. It can result in nutrient defiency
@BigTeapot217 жыл бұрын
They release ammonia. Good fisheries want there water quality to be good equals faster growing carpsicums
@thomasthetankengine22577 жыл бұрын
Good answers lads, I’d heard they can be so effective that the fish won’t eat anything else too 😂 which like you said being preoccupied 🤔👍

My opinion is abuse.what I mean by that is the average angler will spend £20 ,£40 or even £60 on 3 gallon of maggots but sponsored anglers where money is no object will use 10 20 or even 60 gall9n of maggots which is why the likes of linear have banned them.they should be banning the sponsored anglers in reality .they are one of the best carp catchers around and if you can afford to put 60 gall9n of maggots out you will catch lots and lots of fish over it and once they are on it every other anglers might as well just watch them or help with the net.if they were banning them because they are no good or no nutritional value then why is it acceptable to use 10kilos of sweet corn that again is one of the best carp baits out there but does nothing for the fish what so ever
@theastuteangler6 жыл бұрын
jake graham no nutritional value? They are almost pure protein. I assume no nutritional in any of carp's natural foods (i.e. crayfish, oligochaeta, chironomids, larval insects)? I don't think carp evolved on boilies...
