Great episode! :) Love old bury hill guys! Caught a 5.5 golden tench on bread flake there, on float, tight to the lillies, 50 yards from the boathouse at twilight, smashing! Mike, yr like my missus when she's woke early in the morning - trips over her tongue ("pass the keepnet!"), and gets the grumps! Ha ha! Only joking buddy, love the show chaps, only us barmy English could make something like this! Brilliant! Much love. M.E. x

In the US our go to bait is sweet corn. Here in Rhode Island in the summer we are pestered by turtles and small catfish, so we switch to other baits, like nuts, etc. We have limited selections of companies that sell boilies or pellets so we have to improvise quite a bit! Some people do buy carp rods from europe or canada and some people use any old gear. Some people have adopted the hair rig and some people non carp rigs. Anyway, love your videos!

I am just a Yank from across the pond, but you guys absolutely rock and I love your work! I am from the no where state of West Virginia and I am sure you have never heard of it...expecting you to know about it is like expecting me to know about Exeter....what? My favorite of favorite things I have learned from you is using boiled rice to bait and feed with and fish with maggots....I have caught so many fish that way, it is just ridiculous. Thank you and please do not sell out and start telling us to use this tackle, this location, this hotel, this guide....just be yourselves and I will be a life long fan!

Big fan of fly/freshwater and saltwater fishing so have seen every one of your videos at least a hundred times! 🙈 Look forward to your videos each week, and if you ever need a fishing partner in the south of Devon I would love to fish with you 👍 Tight lines Pullen boys!

Good fishing guys! Great tips too! I’ve got a really good doughball recipe for you, of course you may have already tried it and maybe not.?? But I’ve caught loads of Carp ( as well as cats) off this dough, Carp of all sizes too! But you take wheaties ( wheat flakes) or bran flakes, canned sweet potatoes or yams, and wheat germ, you crush up the flakes then drain the juice off your sweet potatoes, mash up the potatoes and add to the crushed flakes, work all that up together until you get the right consistency dough that you want and then add the wheat germ at the end, the wheat germ acts as a attractant, the particals of the germ will float up off your dough bait when it’s in the water! But try this recipe for your British Carp and see if it works for you! Good Fishing!!!!

a bivi is a makeshift shelter to sleep the night in survival /army situations. traditional bivouacs in england are made of an A frame covered with ferns until watertight. nowadays its alot easier to use a sheet of tarp tied to a few tree's. although alot of the fun sleeping in a Bivouac is actually building it. and hunting rabits /birds to eat as well. theres actually a place in england somewhere you can do courses with 4 grades. hope someone found this usefull :D

David Harvey They don't need to be all high tech rigs.The basic hair rig/boilie combo still works well. All fishing has a following of "tech" stuff,some works for fish,a lot just works for the anglers. But the basic boilie/hair/bolt rig in its most basic form is still extremely effective.I'm not about to rush out and "bivvy up" with gear myself.I just adapt with whatever tackle I have(Sea reels used in this one by me) but I can see the actual terminal and bait rig works so I just lob that out.

David Harvey The ultimate early alarm was an old penny balanced on the lip of the reel spool,bale arm open,and a tin tray underneath.Fish takes line,penny gets pulled off,clatters in tin tray and angler strikes.Its absolutely true.Was all the rage in the 50's.Anyone about still remember it ??

good video as always but when you said about putting the same amount of bait in the spomb each time so as not to effect the casting distance, couldnt you just put the line in the line clip on the reel so it wouldnt be able to go further then the distance you set it at any way

You should clip up when using the spomb, its much more accurate and you dont have to worry about casting to far or to less, also try putting out a spread of boilies instead of pellet the bream will ignore it and the carp will move in

Bivouac :-a temporary camp without tents or cover, used especially by soldiers or mountaineers, early 18th century (denoting a night watch by the whole army): from French, probably from Swiss German Bîwacht ‘additional guard at night’, apparently denoting a citizens' patrol supporting the ordinary town watch, Courtesy of Wikipedia.

The word bivouac is French and ultimately derives from an 18th-century Swiss German usage of beiwacht (bei by, wacht watch or patrol). It referred to an additional watch that would be maintained by a military or civilian force to increase vigilance at an encampment. Following use by the troops of the British Empire the term became also known as bivvy for short. (Bradford, James (2004). International Encyclopedia of Military History. Routledge.)

little tip for yas netting the fish put the net trough the loop at the pole it will cause less drag in the water and when the fish is in it will drag the net to actually hold the fish comment if you think this is good advice people so I know people see it I see 2 many people using nets wrong ha that's the reason the net pole has the loop
@TAFishing
@TAFishing 9 жыл бұрын
jordan donohoe We often used a rubber band to hold the net to the frame years ago.It then pulled free when a fish weight was in it.Trouble is the nets are now large enough to trawl for Mackerel and the mesh is finer,which creates more drag.Our mesh was much wider forty years ago and you could scoop fish easier. (Old school forever !! )Thanks for the tip though.

TAF is my favourite channel on KZbin. Educational, informative and entertaining; simply great viewing. Never tried carp fishing, seems far to technical! Bite alarms......? Horrible invention!!!
