EPIC! CARP FISHING WITH SWEETS! | TAFishing

We're still experimenting with different wacky baits! The sweet fishing challenge is here and it was TOTALLY AWESOME! The fishing was epic, we caught so many carp on such a variety of sweets. Graeme & Mike run you through what sweets they were using and how they hooked each sweet. The aim of the session was to catch as many carp as you can, using a different type of sweet each time. Mike was on the Haribo Starmix and Strawberry pencils, Graeme was on the good old fashioned Jelly Babies! Watch the action unfold!

It is always such a treat seeing the two of you together!!! Graeme's antics reminded me of a time I spent with my Dad.... Say, have you guys ever tried "American Style Bacon" for bait? If you haven't, and you decide to give it a try, in addition to "Real Bacon" (pork) try it with Beef and Turkey Bacon and see which works best.

Hilarious half hour lads thanks. There was a yarn going round last year about a chap winning a beach fishing competition at Winterton, albeit a low fish count, on a blackcurrant jelly baby that brought in the biggest fish of the day. It would be great if you could get some other fish beside them Carp on your bizarre baits. The fish really went on the bite for you after Graeme raised the local air pressure. Thanks again.

Carp in over stocked waters will pick up anything off the bottom to see if it's food , put a hook in it and you will catch.

I tried jelly babies today on my carp and general fishing water. Never had a bite apart from a knock from what I suspect was a small roach. Yet thinking about it the carp and tench should love them as they form a lovely jelly bait after being in the water for about 10mins. Just a larger form of jelly pellets really

Don't mind you fishing with Jelly Babies but making them drown for fun is just WRONG....... ;) Mini Marshmellows are superb Carp baits too and worth trying in mid summer

Mini marshmallows are a great idea! Will have to try that. Here in the US it’s hard to find carp gear and we have to make our own bait. I use a couple kernels of sweet corn with a hair rig and method feeder weight with panko bread crumbs, strawberry jello, and canned sweet corn all mixed. Before I had a method feeder I just had sweet corn on a small hook and it worked but they got off the line too easy.

blackfin tuna do fight, but the bluefin is king, they can straight up outrun a torpedo in the open ocean, and get as big as a car, 600 kg can be caught off our coasts in canada! incredible fish! loved watchin you guys catch on the sweets, im looking forward to some warmer carp weather to try it for myself! It's crazy what baits Carp will feed on. I fished Lodge Pool in Redditch a few years back and I used whatsit's crisps for my hook bait. Just floating on the top and I caught a bag full of Carp.

Sweets will only work on commercials, where you could hair rig earrings and get a take. On a river or natural lake, you would need to put a few hundredweight of confectionary to get them interested.

I bought some small 8mm acrylic beads of ebay and tried them on my local lake and caught 3 carp on them. I think carp will eat anything got nothing to do with taste or smell.

Sweets as bait are not new, in my childhood days I once used an opal fruit (starburst(strawberry flavour)) chewed it for a while until soft then put some on a 16 hook and caught a 2lb tench. Now in my autumn years I still use sweets, in fact tomorrow I'm going fishing for carp and i'll be using black liquorice.

We went carp fishing at Carlyle Lake in Illinois and caught well over 25 bullhead carp that day. I had made up a ground bait of dog kibble, with garlic and vanilla held together with some chicken broth. Worked wonderfully! Carp will eat just about anything. We gave a few really big ones to some Chinese that had come down to fish, but weren't catching anything, and put the rest back in the lake for another time. We were using traditional Korean fishing rods that day. Kind of like old school bamboo canes and lines. Best fishing day we have had. So glad to see you two enjoying each other's company. Love your videos! Keep making them! I wonder if sweets would work on ocean fish?

*Graeme, please try Glacé cherries (Cocktail Cherrys / Maraschino Cherry ) whatever you want to call them, i use them for carp allot they are very good! and the perfect size :)* *Also Jelly like the ones that come in the square block, they are brilliant for carp, had tench on them also, can cut them to size*

Chumming with bread flake on the surface and bread balls on the bottom is the only way I've caught carp in a more... 'wild'.. setting.. besides a fiberglass rod at high velocity... Cheers!

Use chiken nugets uncooked on a hair they work well or anyone with a fishtank lleave your boleys in em for 3 days to discolour and loose flavour for bites will be way quicker as the fish think its old and safe good on ware water and try a dog biscuit on a hair almost like a zig as the carp know that nobody surfaces 50 yards out with mixas i think spam and cheese is my fav baits
