True fact: This song was originally written for a horror film project that never got made, and got reworked for Flashdance when that film went into production instead. The original working lyrics included the chorus line "He's a maniac, maniac at your door / he will kill your cat and nail him to the floor!". Look it up.

The first I heard of this band, I'd taken MDMA at this tiny festival. Had watched nothing but creative, brutal metal and noise all day. Walked past one of the tents and heard this sick fucking beat. Didn't realise what it was but shuffled in, curious. And JUST when I was coming up, that pre-chorus section kicked in. I looked to my friend and we both realised what the song was at the same time and just went "NOOOO! NO FUCKING WAY!" and just screamed the chorus. Most of the people there were typical metal looking fans. All black, long hair and beardy. We'd all just watched some brutal fucking riffs. And we were all there fucking buzzing together to this banging 80s tune that everyone on the planet will have heard at some point. Love it.
