Excellent video, breaking the cost down is so helpful when dealing with clients. I do that on every job and people love it.

Nice Vid. I work in the new england area and im branching out on my own. This is my challenge at the moment is figuring out pricing. I would think that the average pricing in my area is a-lot higher then these prices. Especially now with all the market manipulation on materials. I really need to know where i can start with pricing without going too low or too high

Thanks for your video s.I have been doing carpet for years for other people and making them a ton of money while I make a lousy 20 bucks an hour. My boss makes good money,I know, he has been in the biz for 30 years so I been trying to bend his ear but he just won't give me any in sight.

Can you explain which transitions to put at each instance, when to put different stair ends, etc.

Where are you getting 900 per room? Each room is the same sqft but you have more thresholds in one vs the other. Different LF per room for base/qr... and never mentioned the price of the vinyl. Is the underlayment included in the price? Again, hows that equal for different rooms

Great advice and a really useful video. How about never even visiting the property in the first place? Get the client to send in a video of the area by Whatsapp, Facebook, Viber or Telegram and then use a pre-built estimate template to alter and send it back to them. It gets rid of a lot of time wasters and sets price expectations for when you do go to seal the deal - and it saves an awful lot of time and money. Its super simple to use and it's free. Have a look for yourself

Personally I feel preparation of jobsite should cost more. Clients always fall short of preparing the floor.

Keith Lovejoy I hear ya! Just curious, have you tried “upping” your prices in recent months? It’s been a while for me but I’m going to bump mine up in March just to see if it effects my closing ratio

I think if you are running at full capacity and haven’t raised prices in a while then you should go for it as it’s the only way you will boost your money is increasing your margins - equally if you are not running at full capacity then try lowering them - at my place we are so busy and cannot get any more fitters which is a big issue so we would be silly negotiating on any jobs - we have just increased all our prices as it’s the only way of making more money with what we have - we are still running at full capacity with no was of servicing any work so it was definitely worth it. No point being a busy fool as my boss says.

How did u calculate your quarter round instillation?
@klebercamargo17562 жыл бұрын
this is roughly 1/3 of the square footage. He had 540sf for total 3 rooms divide that by 3 and you have roughly 180 linear feet of quarter round. Same for baseboards and crown molding.
